How you tried any of the MMOs on the appstore. I recently just got into Excalibur. It's a side scroller MMO for the ios. It's free and rather good.

I'd be more interested if real MMOs could be played on your smartphones like for example World of Warcraft. Few years ago there was actually a group which was working on it but I guess things weren't working out seeing how noone is doing it.
    Here is a video:

I guess it's just too hard to make it playable, though in my opinion if they remake it, so that you use only the the main 3-4 dps abilities you should be able to do dailies, farm etc...
Nowadays smartphones are even "smarter", so there should be less lag as well.

MMO's are not made to be played on a mobile device. They require a lot of buttons and the map is usually pretty big, too big for a smartphone.

I tried that Order and Chaos game. It was laggy and choppy, too little space for too many functions. It was pretty neat though!

I personally don't like playing games on a smartphone the screen is to small for me to actually get any enjoyment.

Haven't tried one out yet but if you're enjoying Excalibur then I'll give it a try. I've heard of MMOs for phones but I always thought they'd be insanely laggy or it'd take way too long to perform certain actions due to a lack of space/keyboard. Would be pretty cool if it worked out though, something to do on the subway or a long drive.

I havent' been able to get into any mobile MMO's. I try and try to stay interested, but there's always something off-putting about them for me. I've fallen asleep on a couple of them, only to wake up to the character walking into a wall scene. I have an Android Moga controller now so maybe I should give them another shot.

I just feel that mobile MMO's are limited and I just can't find as much pleasure in them. I love playing on the PC instead. I do hope that they develop better mobile MMO's in the future and maybe I'll consider even buying one or two.

Same here. It feels like there is still something lacking with the current MMOs in smartphones. Of course, there is this small chat box due to the small screen size of smartphones and tablets, and for some like me, it just feels different playing MMO without the mouse lol. >_<

I did get into the DDO app. Nice gameplay but the main problem was that it seemed like no-one was playing. It was taking ages to get two others for a group DG.

I have played a few RPG but no MMO yet. I didn't even know there were MMO's on smartphones. I played one game that was fun and that you would play with other people but I can't remember the name.

There's some decent massively played smartphone apps that give an MMO-ish experience, but true MMO's remain PC or in some instances console-bound. I've had a friend tell me an idea about basically creating apps which would connect your characters in the MMORPG worlds to your phone at all times, so in a way it would be like an assistant device. Think of it like the PS4 and how it connects to the Vita.

MMO's are too complex to play on a phone and have fun at the same time. You could play text base MMORPG's in any cellphone browser I suppose.

I tried one but forgot the name. It was pretty simple you had 3 classes mage warrior and something 3rd. It was pretty simple to play and I have to admit pretty fun. These games seem like great time killers when you dont have anything to do.

I have Order and Chaos Online on my Galaxy Tab 3 tablet and I love it. It has a lot of the features of a full PC MMORPG and I've gotten hours of entertainment from it. That was on a 7 inch tablet though so if you have a phone with a smaller screen it might be a little more difficult to play.

It's on a smartphone, as long as we know what to expect from a smartphone game, we will enjoy it. Don't expect PC MMOs on smartphones, there is a different definition of MMO for mobile gaming.

If anyone's ever done any mobile development, they'll know that it would be unviable to create an MMO for mobile play. The screen is much too small and you're supposed to have large puffy buttons for those with larger fingers.

Smartphones are pretty nice, but will never replace a PC. Unless of course the size of phones flunctuate enough that they shouldn't even be considered phones anymore. Remember when phone companies were trying to shrink phones? Look how big they are now :p.

Well to be honest there are some fairy successful MMOs Order and Chaos being one. I've never played it, but the game have stricking resemblance to WoW. Still that game is fairy old, however just yesterday I saw another new game that is coming out that is made for smartphones and PS Vita and if you check the game trailer I'm sure you will agree that playing seems fairly comfortable.

    Here is the video:

I like the pretty pictures . But it looks very resource consuming. I know for sure my phone won't be able to handle it, and if it did, it wouldn't be running at more than half a frame per second. The mobile design for it looks simple enough, but are there any features removed or modified from the Playstation version?

I have no idea at the moment. Just stumbled upon and as you can see it's in japanese. Will have to wait till they do an English announcement for more info.
And I suppose you will need at least a phone with 1.5Ghz to have it run smoothly.
