Smite?

Oh my gosh, I've never heard of this but I've been looking for a new game with similar gameplay to LoL, and I've always wondered what it would be like to play League in first person format. I'll definitely check this out...

 

I've seen this game on streams. And I have to say it just looks confusing to me, I think the animation and graphics are not decent enough, and that is a turn-off for me. I don't know nothing about the gameplay though, other than the basics. But its sure is a game that attracted a lot of players from other scenes as well and has already a big e-sport scene with tournaments and events.

 

I remember when this game was in beta I bought coins so I could get in. The line that caught my attention was every ability would be a skill shot, but after playing for awhile I kind of disagree. Everything felt kind of clunky and not "skillful", but that's just my opinion.

Haven't touched it since beta either, maybe I should give it another go.

 

I did check it out, haven't downloaded it yet for two reasons:
One, our internet kind of sucks right now for game play. Anytime I've tried to play LoL the past week and a half the lag has been absolutely infuriating. (We're moving soon to somewhere with better internet though so yay!)
Two, I was kind of taken aback by how similar the characters are to LoL ones. It seems like a very close rip off to me. Is it? I mean, I spotted an Ashe, a Renekton, Wukong, Evelynn, Gragas, Nasus, Jana, Brand, and more. I understand that these gods were kind of the original (and definitely were around ages longer than LoL characters, haha), but I just was surprised by how similar the character skins are to some of the LoL characters. Does this bother you at all? I guess it shouldn't bother me so much if the gameplay is good...

 

Yes, I've played smite. Especially when it was in beta. I played it a lot but noticed that it has an even bigger problem with people getting fed. If you're fed even a little, you have a massive advantage over everyone else.

Two/three kills is a massive advantage, where in league of legends 3 kills isn't that much. Especially when all of them are on the same person - you get less gold in league of legends, obviously - but not on smite.

 

I really do like smite but I agree with the above poster how once you get on a roll, so to speak, you start destroying the competition too easily. In my opinion this should be ramped down a bit. I do love the theme of playing as various gods though, it really adds a lot to game for me.

 

It looks really cool, because you play from a third-person perspective!
I've already saw some gameplay from it on youtube, but I'm too lazy to install it.
