Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army

Uuuuuuuhhhhhh...... so, yeah. I logged onto steam this morning and was immediately invited to a groupchat where I found four of my other friends from back when we used to play HL2RP not long ago. And one of them was making a raffle where we had to choose a number between 0 to 50. I chose 25, and he therefor gave me his extra pre-ordered copy of the game. At first, it looked pretty weird from the looks of this trailer:

Not really the type of game that I'd buy. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'd never buy this game. I was even concidering to not accept the game after seeing that trailer. But after that, they made me aware that it's a completely new game that hasn't even come out yet. And that's pretty much the only reason I accepted it. Well, that and the fact that I'll be playing 4-player co-op with those three other friends of mine from back in the HL2RP days.

I also found this trailer which I only had a short look at. It's looking very good, but I can't help but to notice that it says 'V2' in the name of it. I guess it's an older game or something? I dunno? I'm pretty confused right here. Help pl0x!

I discovered that the V2 is an earlier game and not the same game, really.

Speaking about Nazi Zombies, this Norwegian movie is rediculous :lol: (Sorry for the comment-lady; I found no other trailer of the movie with English subs).

It's pretty much a gore-comedy. It's not like I highly recommend it, but you'd get a good laugh :lol:

 

Luckily only the bosses (Very few) have guns. Also, what I absolutely love about this game is how the zombies don't walk too fast, and they have good animations, as well as the fact that you'll have to execute deadly shots, otherwise they'll just fall then stand up again and keep going at it. Hitting their arms or legs simply don't do anything. Hitting their heart, head or throat gives the best result. They can stand up twice after being shot. The third time they'll die. I've been playing the game for a couple of hours just now with two friends of mine. I must say it's very similar to L4D2 just a little bit more complexed.

The controls are a bit difficult to handle. When you turn around while aiming, you'll turn horribly slowly and when you turn around whilst not aiming, you suddenly do a double 360 and have no idea where you ended up aiming, taking some time to recover from the sudden carousel-mode and re-focusing. But with some playtime, it'll get better. The bullet-flying is very failish. You can hit the exact same spot twice, only one of the times the bullet will only hurt the zombie minorly while other times it can kill instantly. Very unreliable bullet-system, actually. Either it purposely doesn't kill so that the game will be more challenging, or the bullet-system is just very fucked up.

Although the game is freaking rediculous. At the last mission we played, we were in a church where this huge satan-ghost used his POWAH to spawn a shitton of nazi zombies everywhere, going "JOIN US" with a god-like voice. The zombies are created by magick and their eyes glow and they're actually some satanist-cult being revived like three times after killing them (unless you shoot their heads which makes the head explode).


It's maximum 4-player Co-op by the way. The weapon choices are from second world war. I'm liking the guns, they're looking very realistic and true to the real guns. You have one sniper rifle, one pistol and one assault rifle. Eventually, you can have a shotgun instead of the assault rifle, or a rocket launcher with some long weird German name instead of the assault rifle. What I love is that when you snipe by aiming through your scope, the camera will follow the bullet in slow-motion if it's a deadly shot. You will, with X-ray vision, see how the bullet flies through the heart or milt or throat or skull or eye and you'll detailedly see how it penetrates any organs before coming out on the other side like a little meteorite.

The game is very challenging at first. I played on Cadet, the easiest difficulty, and I had only walked along a narrow path and killed about only 10 zombies before I got to a point where I had to clear out a squared area. I panicked because of the difficult controls and they surrounded me from everywhere.... then I died. In Singleplayer, it's essentially more difficult, and it's a lot more boring. Upon playing a small bit of the first mission alone, I was sitting there like "Ah, I see. Shooting Nazi-Zombies and nothing else than that. How interesting.." But when you're playing with friends, you'll be teaming up and covering each other. You'll be strategicly co-operating; Two guys snipes the approaching zombies in the distance while the other two take care of those that gets closer, with either a shotgun, rifle or pistol. If someone falls and needs help to recover, one guy will have to help him before he dies while the other(s) cover the two struggling men by killing any zombies that gets close.

TLDR; Fucked up psychotic game, very similar to L4D2 only with a bit more complexity. Very good WW2-weapons.
