Sorry to hear that. I have a CD-cleaner here at home. It looks like one of those old-fashioned smaller CD players. Just take a tube that follows with the cleaner and put three small dots of the content at three or four places on the CD, then put the CD into it and turn it on. Can't get any simpler. Makes hell of a noise though, and takes an hour or two. But it works. It somehow removes the scratches. I can't get my mind around exactly how. Anyway, if you don't have that, it's pretty expensive I think.

Some game stores charge for disc cleaning/fixing, but I'm not sure how it works and how expensive it is as I've never tried it myself.

Well you can go to some stores. They do it for like 3 bucks idk if the prices changed. How deep are the scratches? Are they as bad as a laser burn? You could always use toothpaste. What you do it rub toothpaste on the disk. Then with running water and your finger wipe the toothpaste off by going from the center to the outer rim of the disk. You might have to do it once or twice. Worked on my halo 3.
