Stalker 2 Any news?

Yeah, it's definitely canceled, they're now working on a similar online shooter.

 

Da, the Survialium game, Or however its spelt looks pretty good though.

But yea, Stalker 2 is Long dead, their was rumors about other companys taking it on but nothing apart from such, Have your heard of 'StalkerSoup' by the way? Might suit your fix as it looks like it combines all of the Stalker games, mods and the such, about 5 Gigs so I hope its good when I get around to downloading it

 

In other words, Stalker 2 Development was officially cancelled. But they still have some stuff that was suppose to be Stalker 2, so they're using that to create a smaller game, an online shooter called Survarium.

 

latest rumors was the Bethesda had taken over the project, but that's all.

 

The Bethesda rumour is just that-rumour and was denied by Tod himself.Stalker 2 is not cancelled,there will be Stalker 2 in the future,but no one is working on it right now.
And the guys working on Survarium are not part of GSC anymore.
And the latest news are that Dezowave,the guys working on the long in development Lost Alpha mod for Shadow Of Cherobyl...although now it's a stand alone game-are working closely with (what's left of) GSC.Dez said that he is going to show LA to Sergey in mid october and HOPEFULLY and FINALLY it will be released.

Well, GSC are no more and their remnants created a new developer called "Vostok Games". Problem is that they don't own the licence to the franchise, so whether there will be a STALKER 2 or not - it is highly unlikely that it will be made by the same people. It's a real shame, the three previous games were amazing. However, Vostok are working on something that's really similar to Stalker and it has already been mentioned in this thread.

GSC and Vostok games are not the same.Vostok is formed by the team that made Clear Sky and Call Of Pripyat.GSC still owns the stalker brand and it's not dead.it's pretty much alive and in fact Sergey is looking to assembe the perfect team to make S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.

 

Hmm, you're partially right. Thanks for pointing that out - that's a bit of important news that I missed this year. However, the majority of the old development team is now at Vostok Games. It's highly unlikely that Stalker 2 (if ever released) would be the same game as it was meant to be, seeing as how a new team would develop it.

 

I look forward to the stalker mmo shooter. Stalker in a multiplayer theme sounds very much like DayZ if you ask me, but that's just what I think. I wouldn't mind something like that though. You join either Duty, Freedom, Monolith, or make your own small band of stalkers in the lone stalker faction. Seems cool but seems very hard to get it right. I don't want another generic multiplayer team deathmatch.

 

I highly doubt that it will have any reffernce to the STALKER Games, the Survarium, noting a complacently different story line and the such.
But, from the Screenshots, I have noticed some assets that were in the STALKER games being present, just with a face lift, and being from, well, the most part, the same Dev's it will likely have the same overall feel to the game

 

I never played the first game... I'm guessing that it will be one of the first purchases when I get my new PC.

Well right now Metro 2033 requires more high end systems then Crysis 1 or 2 does. This is because metro uses a lot of small particles and many other things going on causes the game to require a lot of system power.
