Hey guys Im looking for a fresh new MMO to try out. Maybe something that is relatively new would be better than something that has been around for years and years. Thanks guys all suggestions welcome

What about trying Skyforge? It's in beta testing but promise a ton of fun seeing the gameplays on youtube. I'm going to download it soon and I really have a lot of expectations from this game.

Hey, I was looking into a game called Trove recently. I haven't quite got around to trying it yet but it reminds me of a mix of Minecraft and an MMO, and has a unique graphic style to it, and on top of that it's still relatively new and has an active community so it's a win=win in my book. If you read some reviews on it, they're mostly glowing and sounds like there is a wide variety of things you can do in it, so that's a plus too!

Very pretty. How are the mechanics? Is this your typical MMO done well (or not), or did Allods introduce something new to the genre? The website boasts about a living, emergent world, but nothing specific.

Trove is pretty amazing and it's good to hear. I remember Trion had some problems during the alpha and beta stages of the game, glad they solved these issues.

It is hard to recommend because almost all MMORPGs are two distinct games now, you have the leveling game, and the end-game game... and a single game can be great at one, and suck at the other.

Sadly it wasn't as I expected.. The combat is quite good even if it really reminds a lot of TERA. A lot of grind and quite buggy dungeons too. It all sticks around questing and learning the basics of 2-3 movements of the bosses and then counter it quite easly. No challenge no fun.

If you are looking for something fresh, I`m definitely recommending Star Trek Online or Neverwinter. Both games are made by Cryptic Studios and have some unique features thrown in. You won`t find your basic WoW style item bar or mechanics in these games, but I think they are good fun nonetheless.

Well, that's disappointing. Looked especially interesting to me because Obsidian was involved. The lore also looks interesting, shame that the gameplay apparently doesn't really do it justice.

I agree about STO. It is a decent game. Just please don't give WoW the credit for item bar or mechanics (in WoW not STO). The ui and mechanics in WoW were created and popularized by other games.

It all depends on what budget you want to spend. For good quality games, you can try TERA or Rift, where a majority, if not all, of the game is F2P. Path of Exile is another MMO/ARPG that has great content for free. There are plenty of options. If you were to ask yourself what type of gameplay, importance of PVP, and whether you prefer a sandbox or themepark, I think you'd get better suggestions. As others have been saying, there's just too much out there.

Recently, I started playing LotRO and that has been tons of fun. It helps that I'm invested in the lore, but it's a well crafted game nonetheless. I'm not too sure about the most recent games that are coming out, though a simple Google search could yield decent results.

I'd say Neverwinter or Skyforge, those two are pretty good if you're looking for a fresh, new MMO. LotRO is also a good alternative, although I don't have a lot of experience with it.

Like other have been suggesting on here I say Skyforge. It's brand new and it looks like it might grow to be a really good MMO. Right now since its still in beta it has some issues but the gameplay for it is really fun and you can switch classes at any time with no side effects.

I really liked LotRO, but that game, along with DnD Online, has the same issues. And that is, the fact that you have to buy all their expansion packs in order to be able to level up, much less, experience the full story of the game. They are F2P, yes, but at a huge cost further on.

Oh, that's some pretty sad news. I really dislike when transactions interfere with the flow of the game and you can't advance further, it's such a big turn-off for me.

I agree completely. I started playing both LotRO and DnD Online and had a ton of fun playing them, until I got to the point where I was required to spend 50$ for the expansion packs. While both games, theoretically, give you the chance to grind up enough in-game currency to buy the expansion packs that way, it basically means that you would be required to grind for 2 months straight, and that is not my notion of fun. :D

That's the same stuff Hearthstone is trying to pull with their adventures, which seems pretty scummy. I remember playing a game named Wizards 101 where you had to pay to level your character above level 10. Another fail from Gameforge, a crappy company.

Elder Scrolls Online was selling for $12 USD two months ago. No sub needed to play. Beautiful world, action-based combat, lots of room for exploration and lore.

I haven't kept up to date with any of the new MMO games. The motivation to has waned over the years, after disappointment upon disappointments.

I juts recently got back into Guild Wars 2 and I gotta say that it hasn't changed much. The new expansion comes out on October and I feel like it will fix some of the major complains, like no content once you get to max level and things like that. It also adds a completely new map. The core game is free so you could give it a try and see if you like it enough to buy the expansion.
