Strong has wandered away

    I did the quest earlier today that gets Strong the Super Mutant on your team, and immediately after it was done, Strong walked off. I looked around Trinity Tower to try and locate him, but there was no big green dude to be found, aside from the ones in the upper levels that wanted to shoot me. Does anybody know where Strong goes by default? I'm on PS4, so console commands for finding him ain't an option. I don't really want to use him, as my character's more of a loner, but still.

    If you've never said to him to come with you, he should still be around the Trinity Tower. Are you sure you've looked everywhere around there? Did you try to sleep an entire day, or to warp somewhere else and come back after a while and then look?

    Yeah, I spent ten, fifteen minutes exploring the base of the Tower and the first few floors inside. Tried warping, as well. He's still gonzo. I saw him for maybe two or three seconds when the quest ended, turned my back to see where Rex went, turned back to Strong, and, poof. Gone. Sigh.

    I'm having similar troubles finding Dogmeat, but I assume he's somewhere in Sanctuary, as I assigned him there a while ago. He's just harder to locate than other NPCs 'cause he's small and surprisingly quiet for a dog. Unlike, say, Codsworth, who is a big floaty robot.

    This happened to me too yesterday once I've found a new companion (Cait). Basically I've sent Piper back in one of my settlements and couldn't find her there. The way I've solved it is that I've slept for 2-3 days straight and she appeared. So I guess what Fallout 4 does is that when you change companion they become unavailable for some time. I just wish there was some menu where you can read where they are located right now or something, because you're always afraid that they can get stuck forever on something in the vast wasteland.

    Yeah, same. At the very least I wish they would travel to one of your established settlements by default, or, if you haven't really been focusing on them, to Sanctuary. Bethesda does a lot of neat things with NPCs, but companions always wind up wonky.

    I agree that this is a bit of a pita.
    I lost Dogmeat for a couple days even though I know he was at the sanctuary.
    As far as Strong goes, I watched him head up the ramp in the base of the tower after rescuing him and the other fella. I haven't went back yet but im gonna go try to find him and take him with me to the Sat array. I think he could be useful there.

    They should be marked on the map. That would make too much sense though. :)
