I'll assume you haven't read my previous (few) posts here.
I'm mostly a Battlefield 2,3,4 guy, but I love empire building, business simulations, and even flying games (War Thunder is my recent find).
However, I have recently gotten sucked into MMORPGs. I have GW2 but drifted away. I did play DDO briefly, but am obsessed with Neverwinter.
I can tell I'm loosing interest though, and that's got me considering where to go from here.
So I throw it out to the collective wisdom of the InterWeb! :)

How about some high quality suggestions? I typically play at night, after the kids are in bed, maybe for 2 hours - but I'll do that daily when "into" a game.

Thanks, look forward to your thoughts!

Try Entropia Universe. It has pretty much everything you said that you love: FPS, economy simulation and quite a few different flying things. (from helicopters to large motherships floating around the space)

It's free to play but due to the real cash economy this game is HARD. You can try it for free but then 2h a day is not that much since you will spend a lot of time trying to get a little money. I suggest you try it for free and if you like it you could deposit a small amount every once in a while so you can buy bigger and better things.

Grab diablo 3, it's a 3rd person RPG with an open combat system, see if you like it, it's quite the good game for playing whenever you remember since it's possible to play it solo, and the expansion has already been announced and it's coming so you'll have the time to get the hang of it, try it!

There are quite a lot of really amazing MMORPGs out there. If you are a fan of really good combat system, go for Vindictus and Dragon Nest. If are more inclined towards lore, go for games like Age of Conan. There are more amazing games like this.

You should Give FFXIV a go.. i heard some pretty neat reviews of it during launch week. right now they stopped selling it due to the huge demand it caused and the strain on the servers. but square enyx promised to increase server capacity on the following days so im thinking about grabbing that. whatever you do don't get Wow. its so boring and repetitive now. the good vanilla days are over.

Great. Just keep in mind that it does have quite a steep learning curve. I already made a thread about it, post there is you have any questions and I'll do my best to help.

I think you should really try SWTOR. It's a really great game, especially if you are a Star Wars fan!

Other than that if you want to try a more casual MMO which you can play without any install you can try RuneScape. That's another amazing game.
