Tera community is god awful

    So I started playing the game just yesterday and my impression of the community as a whole is just horrible. This is probably the first MMORGP which I've played where max level players not only kill low level players, but actually camp them nonstop.
    I don't know if I'm just having bad luck with encountering only this type of players or there is nothing for them to do(poor content), so they are doing this, but so far I'm just getting horrible first impression.
    What's more whenever you ask something the best answer you would get is an insult lol.
    I don't see why someone who can bother to insult couldn't just write the answer to the question instead.

    Anyway all this won't stop me from playing the game for now, but it's a bit of disappointing.

    Btw what's your impression? Any current or ex-players that can give some input? Is the game full with this type of players or I'm just having really bad luck?

    That's pretty sad I was considering giving it a go but that sounds just aweful. They really need to fix that then.. so they can just kill you as much as they want? That's brutal.

    Yeah it's pretty stupid in my opinion to kill low level players. From what I get some of them are actually doing it for some achievement, but I have to say it's pretty stupid if you can get an achievement by killing low level players lol. I think it would've been an actual achievement if you could do it only vs max level players.

    I'm sure not every high level players are doing it. Maybe it was the server you joined. Give it another go to see if you will meet better players. Some jerks just like to prey on easy targets.

    I'm not giving up. I'll eventually get max level and at that point I won't care, but I just don't see why people would do it. it's not even fun because you oneshot low level players.
    I got attacked few times by people my level and it was actually fun since we had proper fights, but when a high level attacks you you just die from the first spell. I don't see how he can actually attain any type of pleasure or entertainment from that but oh well the world is full with weird people :p

    Sounds a lot like rohan blood feud, but last time I played I never got PKe'd some people can be so nooby playing low level toons only people that do that is people that can't pk people their own level.

    Turn off Global chat.
    Turn off Area chat.
    Turn off Looking for Group chat.
    Join a guild.
    Profit.
    It's a game on the internet. It's free to play. There are no restriction to who can join it cause the M rating means nothing when it's free to download and parents can't stop their underage kids from playing it cause they aren't aware of it. Which breeds trolls. It breed obnoxious chat in all general chat channels. This is nothing new. It's been this way for years with every MMO. But if you turn off all those chats, get in a guild that's active, and ignore the occasional retarded berserker in your dungeons, then it's actually not completely terrible.

    This doesn't really help in any way. I mean it's not like someone is insulting me in the chat without me having asked any question and if I do have to ask a quesiton I don't have an option other than to ask in the chat right?
    Also by awful community I mean the high level players that kill and gank low level players. Every 2-3 levels I encounter such a person and they don't just kill you once they stay where your quests are and wait for you... It's beyond retarded :(

    Yeah, the community on Tera is just....appalling most of the time. I have turned off most of the chats except for say, whisper and guild because they mostly talk non-sense in the other chats. I also think it is stupid how some high levels decide to kill lowbies, it makes no sense and then people go and shout "Oh its a PVP game". Well...what is the challenge of 1 hitting someone that is way lower than you? I don't understand how people get the satisfaction of killing lowbies.

    That being said, there are a few good people in that game that are helpful. I also think it depends on what server you are on, maybe there are other servers that are less jerkish, however I think a lot of the pvp servers have a lot of trash talking people.

    I don't play this game much anymore, I log in from time to time because I'm playing a different game, but not much changes when you leave for a while....still a lot of junk players.

    I find that NOT going on PvP servers help alot with the overall gaming experience... you can still duel as you please anyway. With regards to the community, I find that the Role Play server has the most mature player base for the most part, its not like everyone there does Extreme Role Playing anyway so its more of a seemingly more organized PvE server.
