I played this on my computer in 3D just like Metro 2033 and however pleased I was with the visuals and world in the first one I was absolutely astonished at how beautiful and immersive the sequel was.

I was genuinely sad when I beat the game and realized there were no more characters, locations, or stories to go through for now, but just like a good movie or a really good book I will start it up again soon to be consumed by the darkness of the Metro!

I found Metro 2033 to be a rare exception in that I was willing to forgive weak gameplay for the sake of going through the story and I was pleased that this one felt a lot more solid as a shooter.

The main thing though was the wonderful story, awesome characters, and the truly immersive captivating experience.

I also appreciate the 3D support. It sent that game right over the top. Even if I'm the only one who played it like that then know it was amazing for me and I enjoyed it a way I've never enjoyed a game before; especially once I had it set up just right so the gun was in front of me and DX11 was going strong.

Please feel free to make more Metro games as long as the art stays visually astounding (no doubts) and the story stays intriguing.

I know I'm rambling, but it's with almost a tear in my eye that I thank all the artists (including the programmers and original author of the book) who made such an incredible world to experience and journey through.

I have to agree with the OP here, the graphics are stunning. I got killed the first time I went up on the surface because I was too busy looking at the world in all it's details, rather then paying attention to the creatures attacking me. LOL  I spent an hour easily just looking around the base and talking to people before I started out on the mission. Its been along time since a video game did that to me.

I'm with Jemu minus the 3D (don't have 3D). LL is a grand achievement and all those involved with the production and development should be proud. I'm generally an RPG gamer but this is one of the few FPS games that get my attention because of the graphics and the story. You've raised the bar and set an example that many of the upcoming games will be compared with. Kudos to you!
