Fallout 4 isn’t even out yet, but this hasn’t stopped players from starting mods for the game already. As reported by VG247, the first mod for Fallout 4 has already been planned. A user shared his idea on a mod he’s working on via the Bethesda forums. What this user has created is a Rail Rifle for use in Fallout 4. The user said the rifle will have a lot of modifications. The modifications will alter the gun’s performance. He said some of the modifications he will offer in the mod includes “different barrels, muzzle breaks, stocks, and soon to be grips“. Optics will be available at some point as well. This user is famous for providing mods in Fallout 3. He’s obviously come back since Fallout 4 got announced. Apart from this rifle, the user plans to release more mods in the future. So far, we do know that Fallout 4 mods will be supported on both PC and consoles. The user states the mod he has created will be launched as soon as possible. This will roughly be shortly after the November 10th release date. The game is sure to have more bigger and elaborate mods as time goes by. A gun is cool, but mods can also include new levels and playable characters just to name a few. How? Was he given advance copies of the code? Or is he guessing the game environment and hoping his mods will work?
I'm with Decim. But, is this guy saying that once the game is released, they'll make the mod? And when they say that mods have begun, do they mean mod ideas?
Seriously? You're going to copy an entire article and then post it on a forum? How creative and original.
While this is cool and all, I'm more interested in mods that will expand the game world like new locations and such. Still, isn't it a bit too early to start creating mods when there is no access to the creation kit of the game?
Well, this is more like concept at this point, we don't even know to what extent FO 4 will support mods. Maybe they won't be supported at all (hopefully that won't happen and knowing Bethesda, there will surely be at least some basic support), or it will be severely limited. People should stop taking it for a given, or they can get extremely disappointed.
I can't wait to see the mods in Fallout 4, the community is gonna be immense and we're surely gonna see some cool stuff once the game comes out! Who needs DLCs anyway?
Sounds like he is basically making everything ahead of time, having it all ready by the time the game comes out. Then it's just a matter of inserting it into the game.
Fallout 4 will definitely have gigantic modding community, just like Skyrim or Oblivion, or any other Bethesda game released so far. I am really curious what modders will come up with for us to play and enjoy.
Theres also a tool out that helps you config the games ini files pretty useful while Beth releases new patches for the game.
