  3. Punching people via TCP/IP.

Social aspect is being forced. VR has been around since the 80s and is being forced. 3D was around since 50s and it never caught on and is being forced.

    I don't like it and I don't want it.

You know when you have a really great idea which sounds great in your head, write down some nonsensical rubbish and then you read it, still think it's good and leave feeling very happy with yourself, well that's what happened there

    To the next level...:derp:

I think developers should go back to focusing more on storyline and post apocalyptic stuff.....AND FLOPPY DISKS!!!

Lastly, games that will be released on PC and consoles should be ported over from PC to consoles, not the other way around :tsk:.

Actually that's exactly how they are made. First created on PC, then ported. The problem is, most devs don't have the balls to tell the gamers and the $ony/Micro$oft that their hardware is shit outdated, and they have to give everyone the same experience.

Hopefully with both systems using X86 and more advanced hardware, we'll see more ambitious games.

Honestly, with new features like motion controls and whatnot, it seems like most gamers are more interested in fun games than crazy new ways to play them. Most of these crazy add-ons and peripherals are passing fads at best, hardly the industry-transforming spectacles that they're hyped up as.

Advances in storytelling are probably some of the least appreciated accomplishments this last generation, with games like Mass Effect, The Walking Dead, and Spec Ops: The Line doing a really impressive job with building likeable characters and building stories with really emotional impact around them. Plus, with a growing audience and further console support, being an Indie developer is more accessible than it's ever been, so I hope we see an even greater flow of cool ideas and designs. It's always been about the games themselves, and I don't see that changing any time soon.

I think fusing story telling with online play and other ambitious things will be the future, A LA star citizen.

I see where my wording went wrong and gave a different meaning to what I was trying to say.

What I meant was that games planned to be release on PC and consoles should be first made with nothing but the PC gaming audience in mind; meaning, give the PC gamers all the jaw dropping visuals and the very important options menu which lets you customize settings to your liking, then port over (downgrade) to consoles. When done the other way, porting over a console game made on a computer to PC, you often get glitches, more QTEs, stuttering on a high-end rig, and the options menu only allows you to change the resolution (just to name a few annoyances). The devs (most of them) simply get lazy and just copy all of the content meant for consoles and paste it onto a dvd compatable to play PC, just to save some time and money.

The thing is that some publishers just don't seem to see the PC crowd being profitable enough to justify the extra work needed to optimize the game for such a wide variety of potential systems, and implement all of the features that make a really good PC game stand out.

Which is kind of funny, because it just turns into the usual case of people not buying games not built well for the PC, and the publisher then using that as justification for their budget limitations.

Yea I never understood that. In my video game programming class when we ported pong to the xbox all we did was change what each action did. It took little to no effort in changing it. Hell we even port our games to an arcade table to help raise money for charity and that thing is from the 80's and it still takes little to no effort.

To get a console game to work you have to test it on PC first. Why would you not release it on PC when you were fucking playing it 2 months before release on a PC?
