Thoughts on Aurelion Sol

    Now that we have all had a chance to play against him in lane what are your thoughts on the new champion?

    I have not played him, but playing against him I think he is a very interesting character design. At first I thought that his passive was way too OP, but then I learned that most CC shuts off his passive. This is a huge weakness and makes it much easier to handle him.

    Over all I don't think he is that OP considering he is a newly released champion. Once they have seen how he is used in game play and have a chance to balance him some more I think that he will be a really fun champion.

    I think he's overpowered considering the skill level required to play him. However in higher elo, he isn't that much of a threat.

    He lacks the mobility and the counterplay for melee champions. Aurelion Sol with his ultimate on cooldown would be dead for an.. Akali, let's say. His abilities revolve around the passive, which is useless in melee range. Also, his Q is useless in melee range as well, given the fact that he cannot recast it to detonate it early (only after a delay).
    Aurelion Sol is not what I expected. He looks good and has potential, but Riot didn't make the best kit for him. However, he is rewarding if played properly.

    I don't think he's overpowered either and as with many new champions it usually takes a while for people to figure them out and include them into the meta. I think it's only at that point where you could really say how well he integrates to the roster but as of now I think he is in a fairly good state. The devs have been making champions for a long time now and it really seems like they have gotten very good at balancing them right out of the gate.

    He's pretty overpowered at times, but at higher elo. it's not that much of an issue. He's got weaknesses in mobility and he can have major weak points in melee range. He is relatively new and we'll learn more about him.
