I like League of Legends a lot, but lately I just can't seem to be bothered with it. It seems people just play this game to annoy others and I try to take the game serious, but I just can't. Has anyone encountered people trying to just troll or mess around in the game, at times getting on the nerves of other players? Should League of Legends be a game we should pay for? Would this combat that problem?

The minute you start charging for an MMO these days you will see a drop in players. Once that happens, part of the fun of playing the game will go as it just becomes a PvE game which you might as well play on your PS3. There will always be annoying people ruiing it for others or cheating but in that respect an MMO is just like life!

I suppose so. It's just I deal with so many annoying trolls. It seems as it LoL is full of it more than other free-to-play games. But I suppose it's life and I'd get it in other games, including pay to play games. I'll just have to take it or start trolling myself. :D

That is life this day and age. There's trolls in every single aspect of life, including reality. There are trolls everywhere, that's a simple fact. I've dealt with them in every single game I played, and still deal with them today. You can expect to see them in free-to-play and pay-to-play games, there's nothing that'll stop them. Plus they aren't breaking any rules. So what can you do about it anyways. Your only option is to join in on the laugh, or troll them back.

I don't suppose it is worth making a note of regular trolls and getting together with a decent hacker who could 'mod' them out of the game. Sure the webmasters would turn a bit of MMO vigilantism??

I've been playing since season 1, and while I can say the new changes to ranked have made it a lot less stressful and toxic, leveling up a new account has been getting worse and worse. The prevalence of smurf accounts is making it so that new players are being expected to know everything, and raged and flamed at when they don't.

The Player Behavior team has been working on this, and while Tribunal has been a giant success (in my opinion), they still have a lot of work to do.

The community in LoL is the worst I've ever seen, and no, I'm not lying. Just yesterday, I was teaching a few friends that were fairly new so I went on my level 5 account to teach them. I hopped onto a 5v5 match, and came upon this toxic Tryndamere. My friend called top to try out Master Yi, but this guy did not care, and just picked Tryndamere. Fast forward to the game, he goes top and tells my friend, Yi, to go bottom. My friend says he called top, and Tryndamere responds with "who cares about who calls what" and proceeds to stay top. After a few minutes of arguing, he finally goes bottom. When my friend dies a few times, he calls him out saying he's horrible and "I told you so". He also claimed he was a platinum 4 player, but when I told him to add me, he never responded. The league community is terrible.

I strongly agree with this. When I used to play LoL every game I joined there would be a player that's AFK. Since that player isn't there to help us, it eventually costed us the game. This happened to me almost 5 times in a row so I just uninstalled. I'm giving this game another chance, hopefully it won't be too bad.

Please do! The troll level on LoL is too damn high, lol, but for every troll I believe there are like 3 people who are taking the gameplay seriously.

Yeah, it really is kind of discouraging to even play the game sometimes knowing that any mistake you make might invoke a tirade of insults from your teammates in public games. The ignore feature is pretty useful for this :p

Generally my advice would be to talk to and add nice people you meet to your friends list. Doing that has increased my enjoyment of the game tenfold. I can usually fill a premade lobby with people I have played with before and so the trolling is either just joking or non existent. That doesn't apply to ranked obviously, but not much you can do for that.

My advise is just to ignore the trolls as much as you can. Trolls will always be present no matter which game you play. As somebody mentioned, you can try adding serious players you have played with so you can easily get in touch with them and play together in the future.

Sadly, I would agree that there are so many rude people in LoL. There are players who are just AFK the whole game and there are those who keep on blaming you for no reason whatsoever.

Ozadin - you are almost as bad as the Tryn! The whole team need to compromise, you cant just winge over who called top first! Imagine if that Tryn had been trying to play Tryn top for like 6 games, but there was always some idiot who wouldn't let him? I've wanted to go mid a few times but have been blocked by someone, so chose a different role.

Then after a game or 2, I explained in the team chat that I had been blocked a few times from mid, and people are actually usually quite accommodating.

Sure, there will be a few annoying people every game or so, but most people are pretty good, as long as you don't become on of those annoying people!

The thing most people do not realise, is that the game is supposed to be a team orientated game. Thus requiring teams in order to play the game in a way it was created to be played. Solo-queue it's exactly this. Solo. You play to improve yourself, your mechanics, and your decision making. If by a miracle you find somebody that plays as a team player in solo-queue make sure to add them.

YES, it's intimidating! I used to get so upset about people getting down on my for skills, and eventually I grew a bit of thicker skin about it. It's not personal, so you shouldn't take it personally. Some people are kind of just jerks and they're going to take it way to seriously. But ignore the haters, add the fun people, and it'll be a good experience. :)

Report a player somehow doesn't work anymore, I mean - I keep meeting the same assholes from previous matches, yes ranked matches. And they just keep trolling - they don't care for winning, they're just straight up douchebags.

Also, try to remember, that trolls and feeders and w/e else you want to name them, exist in every bracket/division of lol. When i was bronze, I tried my best to raise my elo only to find out, that in higher divisions you meet the same trolls but they know how to last hit.

This is a good topic. I've actually been unable to get a few of my friends into LoL because of the stigma that surrounds it regarding the massive amount of trolls and downright horrible player-base. It seems that even when LoL players are not in game they still act like jerks (not all obviously) but it definitely scares off new players.

I found when I played people were feeding the enemy champions so that they were the highest level possible and they just like impossible to kill and it would be all on purpose... so that gets quite annoying but oh well.
