This game, "Eternal Sonata" is a fairly cheap PS3 game. I have no idea why though!! It's absolutely gorgeous!! (Seriously, my brother and I just kept commenting on how pretty the opening scene was...probably didn't help that he had an HDMI cable attatched) The story is also extremely deep, charming, with pro environmental undertones. The battle system is a bit different than just turn based. You have a time limit to move or attack and the bosses here actually REQUIRE strategy. Seriously, the bosses stumped me like no other game. I would keep just trying to level up and fight them, but even that didn't work, until finally I just decided to try something else and it worked! You have a pretty big world to explore! The music is great!! Oh, I almost forgot, the game is kind of based off a real composer, "Chopin's" life. Throughout the game there will be cut scenes that play music in the background and you can read text about his life. A must play!!
Me neither I absolutely dislike anime looking games. I know some 40+ aged women and even men (!) who love these though. Wonder what is their real target audience ?
Age shouldn't factor into it. Much like some people appreciate one game while others hate it, this kind of artstyle just isn't for everybody. Personally, I really like it. I think far too many games these days are trying to do the same thing graphically - gritty and dark, and try to be as photorealistic as possible. I won't deny that a lot of those games look beautiful, but it's an overused style in my opinion, and it's nice to see more artistic approaches used from time to time. I'll have to try and get a copy of this when I eventually get a PS3. The last screenshot has a very 'Tales of' feel to it, and that's probably my favourite game series of all time.
Haha wow, I just made a post about this game and scroll down to see this thread. It really is a great game. I suppose if you're not into anime style games it could be a turn off, it's definitely VERY anime-ish. But it's a very good, unconventional game.

Another thing to mention is that you get to be Frederic Chopin in this game. Like you literally play as the famous classic composer. (or at least an anime version of him.) I just think that's super cool.

You didn't convince me either It may be as good as you're saying but I've never been a fan of Anime games. It's all so ... I don't even know how to call it. Well, maybe it's a good game for those who like this genre, but I'll stick to other games that do not involve so much anime Anyway, thanks for sharing!
I guess I have the unpopular opinion here. Anime games make the best RPGs and this one looks good. I don't have a PS3 tho, I will definitely try this game out once there is a PS3 emulator for PC.
After nearly a year, I picked it up for 360 recently and all I have to say is HOLY CRAP.. It's so great..
I should pick up this game sometime too. I've been meaning to, actually, but I just haven't gotten around to it. I hope it's not too pricey by now!
