When playing an RPG game, do you level up until level 99? Or do you settle for less? I normally don't max up my characters up to lvl. 99 because I really don't have the patience for that. Even if I don't level up to the maximum, I still manage to defeat most final bosses that I have faced. But I admit that there are times that I was stuck in certain areas because my levels were too low.
Most of the time I level up until something around level 50-60. That is enough to fight against the final bosses and still have some challenge. If I have the option to start again, I level up until level 99, just for fun.
I usually don't bother leveling to much I try to be a little under leveled for a challenge, but in some cases where the game becomes to much a challenge I may try and level up five levels or so I only do this if I am way to weak and I am getting one two shot by things.
I always level up to the max. I like to overpower my enemies and feel awesome. That's why I always tend to grind to a high level before proceeding through the story.
max level that seems like to much work unless your killing hidden bosses which are usually a lot harder then regular bosses.
DAT MAX. Seriously though, it just is better if you do. You end up being powerful enough to take on anything.
I always try to reach the maximum level on every mmorpg, because I like to finish what I start, of course if the game is boring I won't do it... It's always cool to see the progress of the game and most importantly, your character.
Wow, you guys are really devoted being able to level up to maximum. Come to think of it, I can't remember a time when I reached the maximum level... Hmm... I think in FF8, I got Squall to Level 75, Zidane I managed to reach level 80... In rogue Galaxy, I think my characters were around level 60 to 70, same with Persona... Tsk. I need to toughen up my game.
Personally I don't think I have made one charter over the high 60's I personally hate grinding and only do it as a last resort.
If you really like the game you're playing you will want to complete it as much as possible. As some have said, there are stuff in the game that are usually only accessible when you've reached the max level.
I usually just level up long enough to complete everything in the game. Some games, like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy X require you to level far, far, beyond what is necessary to complete the game in order to complete some side missions. I did, however, reach level 99 in Final Fantasy 7, just because that was like the only game I played for a good six months or so.
Yeah, like Crisis Core. Man, by the time you beat Minerva you can probably instakill all enemies in the story with regular attacks! That isn't even really leveling up as much as it is insane accessories and properly fused materia.
I never quit until it's 100% finished. I was very frustrated in Skyrim that I couldn't max out everything in the Skill tree, but it wouldn't really make much logic if it were possible. Anyway, I always go for the max, that's when the game is finished.
I usually do not care much for what level I am and only purposefuly level up when I need to because I am at a disadvantage otherswise and while often find myself beating a game without worrying too much about whether or not I am max level with all the overpowered abilites.
It has a lot to do with how the leveling system works in the RPG for example Skyrim it's fairly easy, but a game like Kingdom Hearts it's based more on choice.
In MOST (not all) games I try to reach the maximum levels. But I only do that when it's actually somewhat possible. There are some rpg games where they make leveling up such a ridiculous grind because of the amount of exp you need.
Till the level I get to when the main story quests are over. If their is a side quest I like, I may continue but usually, that is not the case.
It ultimately comes down to how fun/boring leveling up is, if it takes a lot of monotonous grinding then I just try to get the minimum level needed to complete the main quests. However, if their's a variety of ways to level up then I make sure I'm practically overpowered before finishing the game.
