In the game you have the option to become one or the other, did you become a vampire or werewolf, or neither? Which is the better option because of the perks it provides?

I did all three in various gameplays. I prefer going with neither, though vampire perks are pretty nice.

I'm still relatively new to Skyrim, but I've been playing through with a few different characters. On my first, she became a vampire and didn't even do any of the Companion's quests at all. I found the vampire gameplay to be unnecessarily tedious for my playing style. Maybe I'm just not smart enough for it, but I found it annoying to switch between forms and abilities and stuff. I went back to an earlier save and did away with it.

On my second character, she became a werewolf and I had the opposite opinion of it. For me, that was pretty easy and seamless and enjoyable. Faster speed and stamina regeneration and I pretty much mauled enemies. I didn't stay one long enough to really progress in it or feed much, as I cleansed myself after the main quest line because I married Farkas and it just seemed right.

In my first play through I decided to become a werewolf and I thought it was really neat! I had read up on the perks and needs of a vampire and it did seem like it'd be rather tedious since I'm more of a casual player myself. Plus wolfing out while you're over your weight limit to run to the nearest town to drop/sell some items comes in handy!

Yeah, I was pretty stoked at how fast the run speed was. Also stamina regen. Also just the whole baddassery of it all lol. But overall I think I'll stick to playing a "normal" character (As normal as a human with the soul of a dragon can be). The other options, especially vampire, just add an unneeded (in my style) of gameplay. Just one more thing to remember to do.
