If you were to choose an armoured car/APC to move around in a contamintaed world, what would your choice be? (Only requirement: must have NBC protection)

My personal choice would be the BRDM-2:

if it had to have NBC, I think I would go with the BRDM-2 as well, or a BTR Series vehicle. But if it didnt have to have NBC then i would go with a Lada, Fuel Efficient, cheap, crude, what more do you want?

Idiots all of you. I,will tame a demon and use,it as trabsport
But for real I agree with wolf.

  4. Doesn't fit the OP criteria, but the best vehicle would be a bicycle, hands down. There's really no reason that a post-apocalyptic world can't maintain or produce their own bikes (Unlike freaking combustion engine cars). They may not be as complicated or as comfortable as modern bikes, but they'd still get you places without having to worry about fuel. And bikes at the very least are silent. An engine in a depopulated world would surely be heard from miles away.

I'm with Komodo on the bike, tbh. Simple but effective, easy to fix & maintain.

The only problem is the lack of protection provided from it.

At first, I'd have to go with one of those APC things as well. But after developing my skills in not having fear and skill within... simply surviving the apocalypse, I'd eventually give a little less fucks about what I do, because I do it with skills none the less. I'd eventually drive a Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 with a car-NBC-suit :)

The problem with bikes would be your limited protection while on it, Limited transport capability, your using your own Energy instead of the Energy in a Fuel, means you will need more food, means you need more storage.

As to be honest, I would rarther have a car, where i can uparmour it a tad, and store some food, water and the such in it that being silent and risk running out of supplies. as it makes you more dependant on the world around you.

making a Crude Combustion Engine is simple, requires Rudimentary tools and machines, would be simple to make cars in a Post Apco' world (Even simpler than today as you wont have to follow Bloody guidelines). As long as their was a massive drop off in Population, getting fuel would be easy.

Actually, yep, bikes aren't the best idea after all - you're right. I could live without the protection if it meant that no one would notice me anyway, but not the extra breathing and faster loss of filters that it would result in.

The armoured car from Dead Island seeing as I wouldn't be able to get my hands on any Military Hardware.

as it happens, ive been giving serious consideration to buying a GAZ66 truck for a couple of years, ...to live in. i'll never be able to afford to buy a house in the uk. The GAZ66s turn up for sale fairly regularily, and theyre the affordable(!) end of military vehicles.

Probably a simple pick-up truck simple and good for scavenging. With lack of knowledge of cars it would probably be the only thing I could drive.

Yeah, Id probably take a Tigr-M if I had to choose an "all around vehicle" but if were talking combat scenario's I'd have to choose a BMP-3.

That's why it's simply for combat scenarios not everyday life.
