Video Game Movies

They need to make a Max Payne 3 movie, aswell as an Heavy Rain one, if you've played any of these you know the storyline is just amazing, heavy rain end is so surprising, never thought of it to end that way, and never thought that x character could be the one they were looking for all along, if you haven't played it get a ps3 and loan the game from a friend, it's story is something from outside this planet, trust me!

 

I don't think any of the video game movies till now have been up to par.

Assassin's Creed is another game which is being converted into a movie currently. I don't see how they could incorporate it into the franchise, but it has some good big names in it and I really hope it turns out to be great and is successful.

Other than that, Watch Dogs was also recently announced to have a movie in works. Now THAT actually seems like a good idea as its plot would really convert well into a movie and hopefully this one will be good as well.

 

I think a good game concept for a movie would be Fallout, maybe Elderscrolls. You don't see a lot of good movies based on video games, the only good ones are the Resident Evil movies. Have you guys seen the mortal combat and street fighter movies?

 

Video game movies are way too often very bad. I don't want to see another great game being wasted. Let's hope they never make a Zelda movie.

• Portal 1 and 2

That'd really look awesome to me, not sure if that's only me.

• BioShock 1, 2 and maybe even 3

BioShock 1 and 2 are follow ups on how an underwater city would end up, I think that'd be pretty interesting. And BioShock has an awesome story too.

• I am Alive

This isn't the greatest game if you ask me, but it'd have a good story for a movie.

• Amnesia: The Dark Descent

I dare you to watch it.

• Prototype

Extreme large disease outbreak which turns people into zombies, sounds awesome for a movie.

There are probably even better options, but these look great to me already.

 

Agreed on all of the Bioshocks. Those would make fabulous movies. Honestly, the vidoe games that have been turned into movies were not good. Double dragon was alright for its time period, I guess. I'd love to see a Zelda movie. I know there was a Zelda cartoon series. I did not enjoy the street fighter movies. How about a Just Cause movie? Or a Red Dead Redemption movie? Those would be interesting.

 

That's the worst thing anyone has said to me anywhere anytime.

 

I would love to see either a Kingdom Hearts or Tokyo Xtreme Racer movie!

 

I think that most movies have and will continue to fail. While there are great storylines in games I think they should be kept in the games, not put on the big screen.

 

I agree they need to leave the games where they are and not make a movie out of it. All the movies I have seen based on games have sucked big time except Resident Evil, but that is only because they were able to pick a good cast for those movies and the story was not bad either.

 

Make a GTA Vice City movie. You can make it about a small guy's ascent to the top of the crime in a seedy city and how it destroys him afterwards. The lead can be called Tony or something......

Wait....

 

Movies made from video game material are just awefull. Just take a look at the Dungeon Siege movies. The only really good movie adaptation of a video game that I`ve ever seen is Mortal Kombat, the movie with Christopher Lambert playing Raiden. I don`t hold much hope for future video game based movies.

 

I really hope the Warcraft movie will be great. I am really a big fan of the Warcraft story and universe and I hope they dont spoil it.

 

I want to see a God of War movie get made. The Greek mythology has been done many times but never had a story like God of War. I think the premise of exacting revenge on Gods is a great plot for a movie.

 

I don't mean to sound rude, but we have seen countless movie adaptations of video games that didn't turn out well. Tekken, Street Fighter, Dead or Alive, Resident Evil (only the first film was good), Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider (the only saving grace is Angelina Jolie playing the part of Lara Croft), Super Mario Bros, Final Fantasy (Spirits Within was an absolute garbage while Advent Children was mediocre at best), Silent Hill, etc. I can go on and on and all I can think about is how messed up it would be for a game to be turned into a Hollywood film. So all I can say is

 

Halo movie needs to happen finally. The TV series of Forward Unto Dawn was a HUGE success and proves that it can be done... and done well.

 

That`s one video game movie I`m very curious about. If they can pull it off, the rich lore of the Warcraft Universe will make one really good movie.
