Would it be possible for Minecraft to have villagers raid each others villages? I am not sure this could work though, due to Minecraft not being that type of game.

I guess it might be possible with mods, but the villages are so far from eachother that it seems silly. It might work if villages grew over time, and eventually covered the size of two villages.

You get zombie mobs raid villages which can get really intense. I once had a zombie mob completely overrun my village and they destroyed all of the villagers in one night. I couldn't believe it! It was my first time on MC and I've been attached to villagers since. Seen their plight ;).

Now it would be awesome if they could destroy them ha ha, breaking the buildings from the roof down though so it looked like ruins and not a floating mess.

I think it could be possible to program something like this, but I think the unwanted side effect would be that eventually one of the villages would be reduced to zero villagers.

Probably possible. I'm sure there's a mod that already does this.

It wouldn't make any sense or fit the spirit of the game, though. Why would peaceful villagers attack other peaceful villagers? If you change that to make them raid each other, then you're slightly changing the game dynamics in a way that I would say would be for the worse.

Well, it might be for the worse, but at the same time, it would make a pretty awesome mod :p

It might ruin the peace that the game offers. It might become a great mod though for a pvp server :p

With Microsoft now owning it, maybe. I think that it might work though.

I think microsoft might rewrite the game into something a little better, and call it minecraft 2.0, but continue development of the current version. It would allow a newer version to be written in a better programming language, and allow better mods, while still allowing development of the current version.

The current version staying alive is important, not just because you'd probably have to pay for the new one, but also because a different programming language would mean the mods have to be rewritten in the new language, and a lot of people only learned java for minecraft in the first place, so it's not really fair on them to make them learn something new.

I guess it'd be a possible addition, such as a mod, but I don't really see much of a purpose for it.

You guys are forgetting two things:

    1. Villagers are usually very far from each other.

    2. These "raids" could only run in loaded chunks, so what happens if the player runs away? What happens if there's no loaded chunks with villagers and loaded chunks between them?

    Not even remotely viable.

That would be nice if someone do that, NPC interaction is nice too.

I think it would be neat, but currently, that kind of thing isn't at all possible, just because of how far villages are from each other. I guess it would be more interesting too if they actually destroyed things, and if villages were completely different from each other (come having castles, horses, cows, large houses, small houses, basements, etc, etc) but they're far to alike for it to even be noticeable if one was raided, ha.

I've had villagers raid my houses before! It was a few versions ago where if you had too many doors in a small enough area, villagers would just spawn unendingly. We had to scrap that entire world, which was sad because we put so much time into.

But more on topic, it'd be an interesting mechanic! Though adding factions for the villages would take a bit away from what minecraft is.

It would be really interesting if they added a game mechanic that would make the villages expand and conquer other villages and so on. It would really add a lot of immersiveness to the game, It would make the Minecraft universe so much more interactive.
