Vindictus is a hack and slash action MMORPG. Nexon accomplished not only an original MMORPG, but also set a standard for future MMO games. Even before Tera, Dragon Nest, Neverwinter Nights 2 online, DC Universe online and the likes, it was Vindictus, which was released in 2010, that pioneered the gameplay where players can literally dodge attacks and can utilize the surroundings to their advantage (like grabbing a pot or a piece of wood and throwing it at the enemy). Counting with amazing graphics, top-notch gameplay, solid story and a great crafting system, this game is almost flawless.

Originally titled Mabinogi Heroes, Vindictus is set in the Celtic themed world. The game uses the Source engine, which allows players to interact with the environment and also ensures smooth gameplay. Vindictus has high production value, including well translated dialogue, a clean interface, and cinematics. Vindictus offers a fresh gameplay style combined with great graphics and a well crafted world to explore. Like other brawlers, Vindictus makes heavy use of instancing, but makes the process feel more realistic. The gameplay is fluid, and the ability to interact with the environment adds another layer of depth to a game that already oozes with production value. Vindictus is easily my most recommended MMO in the hack and slash action MMORPG genre and gamers who are into this genre should play the game that started it all.

Looks interesting! I've always been looking forward to the days when hack-and-slash MMOs take over the market. The game play is just so much more immersive.

I played this game for a short period of time. It was definitely impressive on some levels. The mechanics of the fighting were actually really cool. The problem is that it doesn't really have much to back it up. So if the main thing you care about is combat in a game you might like it, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

I believe it has already taken over the MMO market. There are a lot of non-targeting MMORPG out there, and some in my opinion, are even better than Vindictus. But of course, one should at least try the game that revolutionized, or rather, pioneered this genre.

Well, it does take some time for contents to be updated, but it is more of a poor management on Nexon America's part rather than the game itself. But once the Dragon Raid (the 24-man party) update was patched, it started picking up the pace and is almost keeping up with the Korean server. ;)

I'm pretty sure a lot of people like to play vindictus but there are a lot of things keeping them from playing. Localization and ip blocking usually prevent people from accessing the game. If you live in Asia and aren't Chinese/Japanese/Korean, tough luck. The rest you cant really play unless you use a proxy/vpn which is ok if you solo content, not so much if you want to play with other people as that will mess with your ping.

It's a neat game but it gets boring quite quickly because the gameplay really doesn't change after awhile..

I played the heck out of it the day it was released, but I got really bored of the grind. It's a different MMO with neat graphics and it's based off of the source engine.

I played it for a while and it has a nice, instance based dungeon system. The dungeons are not very long, but sadly, that is because you have to do them over and over again to get certain key items, loot or materials. This was what drove me away from it. I might fire it up again when I don`t have anything more important to play, though.
