Visiting the Nether

    The Nether has been around for quite a while, and over time Nether Fortresses, Blazes, Wither Skeletons, Magma Cubes, and quartz ore were all added to it. In my opinion, there isn't a lot there and it is a dangerous to visit. I die there a lot more often than I ever do in the Overworld. In short, I rarely go there unless I want some building materials, and I leave as quickly as possible. I have had worlds and servers where I have never bothered going to the Nether at all!

    How about you? Do you spend more time in the Nether? Have you ever tried to live there?

    In one server I'm using the nether for my base. Nearly no one bothers going there, so my stuff is really safe there. I built the base under the ground, so that I don't have any problems with Ghasts and stuff. Other than that, I only go to the nether when I really need to, for nether stars or something.

    The only time I go into the Nether is to get Quartz and Glowstones. Otherwise, it's somewhat pointless for me. I would love it, if you can access the nether by digging super deep from the overworld. Eg: 1000 blocks down.

    I agree, Its tough living the Nether life. I've attempted to live there, but a huge problem is hunger. Its difficult to keep chickens alive there, and you cant grow anything for crap. No tree's, No water, and constant battleing. I dont even care for Glowstone or netherrack.

    I try to avoid the darker regions. In fact, I try to avoid darkness in games in general. I am not very brave...

    I've been there a few times just for the heck of it to see what's in it. I agree, the place is pretty pointless other than to battle and grab some materials. There's nothing in there so I just stick to the surface.

    I don't generally like the nether but its good for supplies. I do have a portal in my current house but I only use it when necessary. As you know, the nether is a barren land with no food. I've never tried to live there. Hell , I try not to stray far from my portal in case I get lost.

    I tried to make a little home in the Nether but something always managed to find a way to kill me or else I ended up underestimating a jump and fall to my death. I think it's a really cool area however it is a barren land. It is fun to explore it. I don't go there very often anymore though.

    I ALWAYS die in the nether. I can't go very far cos either pigmen get me or those ghasts or the blazes! And I can never find a Nether Fortress!

    I have never liked visiting the Nether. I prefer the normal game, with the old looks and the old bosses. The Nether simply doesn't attract me.

    I can say I've never been brave enough to try and live there! I tend to do like you, and only go in when I need some crafting supplies. The chances of death is just way higher in the Nether, man.

    I've actually never been to the nether. I've seen those monsters that take stuff away from you but I've never been to the nether or killed the endgame "boss" in minecraft.

    Iv'e never actually been there. I hear it's a pretty harsh place and you need all the defenses you can get. However, I saw plenty of Lets Plays with people trying to get to the nether.

    Too dangerous for me lol. I'll just stay where it's safe, far, far away from their. Anytime I go there it usually leads to my death!

    One PvP servers with the Factions plugin I do think living in a pool of lava in the Nether is an ideal place to setup a base, you're surrounded by a pool of lava, it would obviously be quite a struggle to get to your base.

    For spending time, Nether isn't a very interesting place to be! But to complete my single player campaign I had to gather the Blaze rods. To survive, your best bet is to not mess up with zombie Pigman. Those fuckers are powerful as hell. Build a good bow to shoot down ghasts. Practice your shooting skills on overworld. We used to throw snowballs at blazes to kill them and save our resources.

    I think that's the point of the Nether; nobody ever wants to go there because it's literally hell. A world of fire and lava, where the ghosts of pigs and men and flying things spawn in an unholy fortress shouldn't be appealing in a game where survival is the objective! I mainly go there for the hell of it though. I make mazes that span dimensions, so the nether is just another canvas for me :D

    I'm the same way. I never have a need or want to go to the nether. I'll just end up dying plenty of times and shamefully go back to the regular world.

    Yeah, I don't even like it nearly as much there. Something is always happening and you have to be on constant alert. It's just annoying being there.
