Watching a playthrough before playing?

    I won't be able to play Fallout 4 for a while, maybe even two months :(

    So I'm wondering what do you guys think about watching a playthrough on YouTube? Is it worth it? I know it won't be the same as actually playing the game, but I'm almost unable to help myself. I just want to check it out, you know?

    I would highly recommend you to not actually watch any kind of playthrough or Let`s Play until you can check out the game for yourself. You will totally spoil yourself the experience of actually playing the game and all you did was to watch a video and not playing yourself. Just have patience until you can play it, is what I would do in your stead.

    That's a good solid advice, I have to say. I just have this real urge to experience the game and I have to wait two more months. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas lol I guess it's better to not watch though, maybe watch some reviews or similar videos.

    I'm very tempted as well! But a part of me doesn't want to ruin it for myself. I'd rather just wait until I can play it myself and see how I like it.

    Yeah, I understand what you're saying, but you I understand the temptation lol There are games I'm not as excited for, like Just Cause 3 and I could watch some Just Cause 3 videos every now and then, see how the game looks, but I feel that I'll, like you said, ruin the game (Fallout 4) if I watch somebody else go through the story.

    You are not really missing out on anything if you wait a couple of months. The game is going nowhere anyway, and by the time you can play, there will be a couple of patches out, which will have fixed issues that people have with the game right now, and also, you could probably enjoy a few good mods that might have been developed in two month`s time. :D

    I wouldn't, you'll get spoiled for sure and it just won't be the same when you finally get to play it.

    If you do, focus on little side missions and straightforward game play. Avoid the storyline completely if you can, especially the beginning. The intro is awesome, and shouldn't be spoiled if you can avoid it. Not easy, given that many online playthroughs don't divide by mission, but still...

    Yeah, that would be a really hard thing to do, but given the popularity of the game, somebody must be doing it, right? All I have to do is search carefully.

    I would say not to watch a playthrough of the game. Dialogue is a big part of the game now, and to watch videos of the game would spoil a lot of it. You should be strong for the next 2 months, it's worth it. :)

    Hell yeah, I'm watching all the play thoughs! I'm not going to have then funds to get a PS4 for a while, but I can still experience the game through others.

    Yeah, I'm doing pretty much the same thing. Avoiding the dialogue and the story as much as possible, but enjoying in gameplay and in commentary of the guy whose videos I'm watching. I never know youtubers can be fun to watch!

    I watch someone play for a while and then I go back to my own game. I start out the game without watching anyone though.
