    I've taken a screen grab of the weapon slot. Is this the full amount of slots?

    1. Default Knife Slot
    2. Pistol Slot
    3. Primary Weapon Slot (Sub Machine Guns or Shot Guns)
    4. Special Weapon Slot
    5. Primary Grenade
    6. Secondary Grenade
    7. (Empty Slot for Throwing Knives)

    Other non Weapon related
    Medi Kit; Gas Mask; Night Vision which is not shown.

    I liked the idea of what that one kid Kevin had said, two universal slots and one sidearm slot. But then again, in a perfect world I'd like to see the combat knife slot as well.

    Okay, I'm open to other opinions, but here's mine:

    What you're proposing now is the player can theoretically carry three guns of whatever he/she wants. That's really game-breaking, in my opinion, There's a fine line between just-right and over-powered, and you're crossing it; albeit slightly. The best part of Metro was having to make a choice between going loud (the Uboinik or Duplet) or choosing a stealthy approach (either flavor of Hellsing or Tihar).

    I don't know, I'm open to change but I prefer the old system. Whatever the majority is fine with, I'm fine with

    I wouldn't mind it as much or at all. I rather have 3 stealth weapons or heavy weapons to deal with anything the way I WOULD want to.

    I actually like the idea. That means you more customize your loadout to fit your playstyle. It would mean that you wouldn't have to choose between a Ventil and a Kalash, for example. I still think I'd use a rifle and a pneumatic weapon, though.

    I think a problem with 3 Universal slots is that for example a player could have 3 special weapons

    1. Valve
    2. Gatling
    3. Tihar

    This could bring a few problems:

    a) Amo is meant to be scarce in Metro so then you will need to have amo lying around for special weapons.

    b) Finding special weapons will need to be more common.

    c) Special Weapons are meant to be "special" therefore are expensive to purchase and amo costs more military bullets. So keeping weapons loaded at all times will be difficult and a player will run out of amo constantly which will be frustrating.

    I think personally Special Weapons should be locked and if it need be that 2 Slots can be universal, but then how would you balance finding amo if a player chooses to run with 2 sub machine guns?

    Well at least now I can carry the silenced Bastard, the Tihar, AND the Duplet!

    ....and what happens if another player chooses another load out, where can he find amo for those weapons, apart from the market place?

    Also if you are carrying 2 sub machine guns (VSV and Bastard for example) and a Tihar as your special weapon. When you go to the market place to exchange your gun with another sub machine gun with with a grenade launcher which slot will it fall into? Will it replace your special weapon or will it replace the primary slot. Are you giving players the freedom to choose?

    It's hard as we don't know what weapons are in the game.

    Example: I, along with most everyone on this forum, play on Ranger Hardcore. For Dead City, I usually drop the Duplet for the Tihar because it's better for taking out Watchers at range. I start out with two or three ball bearings, and I can generally find enough to last me the entire level.

    I like the idea of having "universal slots" however I don't like having three. I think two would be ideal and more balanced. Also having a mandatory side arm makes sense in the real world compared to walking around with 3 rifles on your back.:derp:

    TLDR:
    Two universal slots and 1 sidearm is best imo.

    I think the point is that you can choose to carry those three special weapons and cripple yourself, or choose to be practical. It's more player freedom.

    How about if players choose to carry 3 powerful weapons then there has to be a trade off like taking it longer to draw a weapon?

    I say don't fix it if it's not broken; keep Metro 2033's slots. Pistol, Primary and Special. Or at least make it optional for us 2033 veterans.

    Or, what if every weapon had a weight to it. The different weight from carrying all three weapons adds together to slow you down based on how heavy each one is. If say, you were to carry three light weapons, you'd be significantly faster and more agile compared to if you carried the minigun, sniper rifle, and flamethrower. How can you run fast if you're carrying three huge weapons anyway? I think having weight to weapons, ammo, and tools would increase immersion heavily. Hell, you could even alter the look speed as a drawback to carrying a ton of weight - having the looking altered like it was in 'Child', only not as extreme. Wielding the minigun should stagger the look speed to how it was in Child, cause you'd have to sway all of that weight around anyways. You could introduce it the same way you introduce mechanics such as wiping the gas mask, don't downright say it - or have stats on-screen, but it could definitely fit into the survival horror/immersion of it. Thoughts?

    I'll take my prize now :wacko:

    Good idea but then they have to implement that in the game and it has 6 months until release. But like cerberus said if it aint broke......

    I'd rather they concentrated on the HUD. But weapons like the shot guns should remain un-silenced yet deadly at blasting away mutants. It's as I said there has to be a trade off somewhere if people choose to do away with the pistol slot completely otherwise Arytom will be invisible and won't fear anything. If you take the survival aspect out of Metro then it's just another generic action shooter which I don't want.

    I agree with this. The player shouldn't be allowed to carry three high-powered weapons, otherwise there is no challenge. Maybe we should start a poll so you can get accurate feedback?
