What are your favorite game glitches?

Sometimes games have glitches, and while there are some that are really annoying, others are quite funny or even useful. I remember the first game glitch I ever came across was one in the Harvest Moon DS game (can't remember if it was the original DS or DS Cute). If I am remembering it correctly it was something along the lines of hiring the Harvest Sprites to fish at the beach in winter, and getting a huge sum of gold from it. Not knowing about useful glitches in games at the time, I thought that was the coolest thing ever and spam used it until my file was corrupt.

What are some of your favorite glitches in RPG games, be it useful ones, funny ones, or anything else?

I really don“t remember many from single player games, but in WOW, occassionaly you would fall through the map.. which resulted in you falling through air for a minute or two, and then you would just randomly splat somehwere in the world... usually very far from where you were.

I don't remember glitches that really helped me in the game, the only one I can recall is how I could trespass in GTA: VC certain maps by jumping in the water with a Mitsubishi car but that's about it. I remember that Harvest Moon glitch too! :D

I don't know if this counts as a glitch but if you play Mario 3d world for the wii u, there is a board where if you jump on a Koopa she'll constantly you get lives. My bother usually does it for me so I don't know which world it is in but it's not that far into the game. More like world 2.

This isn't an RPG glitch, but my favorite one ever was the super bounce in Halo 2. Basically if you crouch-walked into a corner and then jumped onto a certain point on the map from the appropriate height, you were thrown into the air. The bounce was so high that sometimes you'd be able to get into places you could not get to through normal means. It was patched within a few months, but boy did I have fun with that glitch!

I remember in Dragon Age Origins if you are in Lothering than a glitch occurs when moving about and may stop you from moving further sometimes, and can take a few seconds to a minute to wait for it to work and sometimes I have to reload the game on the PC version. I noticed another one in the end battles, especially in the Alienage battle as I notice the soldiers move slow and the game can move at a slower pace and then pick up which can be strange to see and can only hope the game will move forward. In the Witcher game the glitch can occur in the chapter one, section when moving about in the fields and the game may freeze and work which is funny at times.

It looks like when it comes to glitches, you either love or hate it. I guess not every game is made "perfect".

I love it when a character just glitches in place and what could've been a normal walk turns into a hilarious dance. This happened a few times when LoL just came out or Ragnarok had problems with its internal servers.

In the N64 Majora's Mask, you can use the Deku Scrub to get past one of the guards in Clock Town. I believe it's in one of the side areas, but all you have to do is just repeatedly backwards and you're out in the open. But if you don't get back in before sunrise, you could break the game.

The rolling into the wall glitch from the first GoW. One of my favorite shooters of all time.

Well it's not really a glitch, more like a an exploit. The hide and shoot technique in Skyrim is very useful specially when you're still a weakling. It's really not a glitch since you're not really breaking anything but it's just so easy to pull off that you can get away most of the time.

The idea is you go into sneak mode, sneak in and try to hide and when you see an enemy, you shoot 'em with your bow and you repeat the process until you kill the guy.

In Oblivion where you used a certain amount of scrolls to duplicate items, though not all items worked. I had fun spawning a crapload of sweet rolls and booze everywhere until it started to cause my game to lag on me.

Mine comes from Oblivion as well. The retail version (aka, non-patched whatsoever) could let you kill Dagon in a fight. My character was maximum level when I decided to end the story, and I fought Dagon until I killed him, at which point he melted into a puddle of red goo and my game promptly crashed to Desktop. Fun times. :D

Oh, I remember that one too. I think I crafted a super sword and caused the dude to melt, though I was able to play a bit longer before my game crashed as well.

That was really funny. Since you were obviously not supposed to fight or even, beat him, and having your game full-out crash, since the program didn`t know what to do next. You basically stole Martin`s show turning into Akatosh. :))

In Vindictus, there is a glitch in this one battle area. Where if you drop off one of the platforms and fall on top of the boss, you don't get instant killed or even any fall damage! (When you fall off normally,y you get instantly killed because of how much fall damage it was) That is a favorite.

Also, the "hold a plate/bowl in front of you and now you can walk through walls" glitch in Skyrim is another great one.

In the original Deus Ex people could get stuck in the doors continuously opening and closing them and it was quite hilarious.

In the Grand theft auto series there are plenty of different kinds of hidden things and so called easter eggs which you can find with tutorials in the internet. However, I have found myself a couple of them by accident.

Easter eggs are a different things though, they're put in the game intentionally. GTA also does this cool thing where they put hidden stuff all over the map and make them collectable and that unlocks rewards when you find them all... Cool addition, adds a lot to the replay value.

The Street Fighter 2's combo system was a glitch. It created the fighting game genre as we know it now. It's basically the best glitch ever. :D
