Since Minecraft is a sandbox game. The so called *main goal* is different based on people's decision. Mine is constructing a very very big castle filled with farms and stuff like that, beating the Ender Dragon and having different *monuments* I would say regarding what i have done. On the other hand while I also like to play like a simple man doing his everyday routine, having a small ranch in the woods.

    What are your goals?
When do you consider a world to be done?

To me a world is never done, it continues on and on until I no longer enjoy it. This can happen after say 12 hours of playing, or after weeks of gameplay, it all depends. I try and have a nice city with fully automated farms, "districts" of a sort (Farming, fishing and such), and of course a redstone area.

Yes indeed, it was stupid of me to consider a world done. But i considered it once because I managed to have pretty much everything and I had no ideea for buildings. Your ideea of a world is pretty nice, I also got a redstone area with all sorts of mechanisms.

I also forgot to mention that there are updates to factor into as well, letting a world never get dull, unless it gets too old. Sometimes worlds do get boring and it is fun to move onto a new one, with new ideals or with different modpacks. It all depens on what type of player you are.

The way I play Minecraft is kind of like legos. I enjoy building huge modern cities. I love being the architect and creating different buildings that fall into different periods of time. If I can find my old pics I will post them later if you guys are interested.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing what you have created, perhaps we should have a dedicated thread (stickied even?) where players can post their creations, I'd definitely read it and add to it.

Like Firestarian said it is never done, not even for me. I always keep finding something to do on it. I don't usually play single player, but when I do, I try to build a mansion and fail at it.

I think a creation thread would be a good idea so we can share our worlds.

Building impressive things. That's what the game is about for me.

My main goal is usually to have a self sustaining house/base. With the exception of ore, I want my base supply me with food, wood stone, mobdrobs, etc.

I never really consider what I'm playing with to be done. As long as I'm enjoying playing it, it's great! Something fun is literally all I go for!

My main goal is to "finish" one world on the legit way. I'm too lazy and then I'm just cheating stuff with TooManyItems etc. So, my main goal would be to fight the enderdragon one time on the legit way.

I have different goals depending on what world I happen to be in, or whether I'm playing by myself or with others. I have several different worlds in which I am working on different things. One, for example, is our multiplayer server where I'm currently creating a treehouse-city with lava all over the ground. It's a little daunting, but fun because we can play "Don't fall in the lava!" right in Minecraft.

Basically in this order: Dig, Store, Build, repeat. ^_^

Of course, as someone else mentioned, Minecraft is a never ending game until that is, you decide to start anew or do something entirely different. Minecraft allows me to build something and over time, sculpt it to something better or different. That is the beauty of it.

My Goal of Minecraft usually is to build a big city with a bank, Automated farms, a temple, a church and a huge mansion for myself. Then i defeat the ender dragon.

I am definitely a Builder/Architect. The best part of Minecraft for me is building houses and buildings. I have seen people recreate some incredible IRL buildings and structures in Minecraft, like the Taj Mahal or the Arc de Triomphe. My boyfriends brother actually recreated our local train station! I think that's something I really enjoy - imagining what I want to build, and then doing it. It gives me a nice little project to do and then I feel really satisfied and proud when I'm done.

I have always wanted to try doing a "sprite artwork" too but I don't think I'd be very good at it. I'm pretty sure there's sites that convert images for you and tell you where to put blocks and things like that, but that almost feels like cheating a little bit.

I've been working on creating a city at the bottom of the ocean for about two years now. Around thirty of my friends have helped me with it's construction over the course of these two years(playing on and off). I have a backup saved on a flash drive :D. Completely legit!

Atlantis is real and it is coming to minecraft!

If and when i ever do play singleplayer, my main goal is usually an amazing house, automated farms, and collecting lots of building resources. I am big into the building and always have been. A huge house, even if it is absolutely useless and only for show, always seems to be the main focus for me.

When I played Minecraft, I only thought about the stuff I want to build. I guess my main goal was to build impressive things. I wanted to recreate set pieces from movies while incorporating some elements of my own.

That sounds really awesome! The server i used to play on had a street kind of like that. It was so you could try to build your real life house in a 1:1 scale while in vanilla minecraft.
