What do you expect of Minecraft: Story Mode?

    Everyone knows that Minecraft became an indie juggernaut fast. And with that, it got the notice of Telltale games. Telltale games is known for taking popular franchises from movies, tv shows, comics, and video games and making them their own stories. Two months ago, they announced they were working on a Minecraft version of their interactive story games.

    But what are your expectations for it? Do you think it will be a smash hit, average, or below?

    If Minecraft DID have a story mode to it, that would be amazing! I would definitely play it. It would be a smash hit for sure! There's no real goal in Minecraft right now, but if you add a story mode to it, it would make the game even more cool!

    Well, you have to remember, this isn't them adding a story mode to the main game.

    This is Telltale taking the franchise and make their own self contained game with it. If you've seen Telltale's games history, you know what you're getting into.

    But to their credit, the stories they put together are very well thought out.

    It will be good I think. Telltale games are great for telling stories and in the games that they released are great especially The Walking Dead Season 1. Many people expects that this game should be good since Minecraft is really big in the gaming world.

    As a standalone game separate from actual Minecraft, I would expect TellTale to come up with something great once again.

    I think the story mode is going to defeat the whole purpose of the game being a sand box. It would take away the freedom of the world itself. If I want a story mode I will go mod it.

    It won't defeat the purpose of the game because it's a standalone product. It's not DLC or add on content. It's literally it's own game. Like how most of Telltale's games are.

    Telltale has much to prove with this one. Even though they make good stories, they always use worlds and characters that are already made. So their story telling skills are only have challenged at best. With Minecraft, a game that has no story at all, now we get to see if Telltale are as good as everyone praises them to be.

    Telltale has never dissapointed me yet, so I have high hopes for this one but on the same note I am a bit worried because the game in of itself doesn't have an actual linear story or any really obvious lore so I feel like they have very little to work with. But if they are indeed as good as they seem to be with just about every recent release, we shouldn't have anything to worry about.

    I'm not sure if it'd be a total hit or not. It really depends on what Telltale has in store and the story line would have to be really amazing to catch so many away from Minecraft long enough. I believe the whole lack of possible freedom of Telltale's could turn people off, though.

    I didn't realize that Telltale games was going to create a minecraft story. If it is anything like their other games I am sure it will be a big hit.

    Minecraft with a story mode would actually be really awesome. It wouldn't get boring so fast.
