I'm fascinated about the originality of the game. To have the idea in the first place took so much creativity, but then to develop it all by yourself and make it so simple/addictive. It's truly an incredible game. It deserves all the hype it has gotten and more. It wasn't an overly commercialized game when it came out, it was just a quality piece that attracted players to it to come together and develop and explore these beautiful, musical, and virtual worlds.

I like how it's open world and you're not really limited in what you can do whatsoever. Also, because it's such a popular game, many things that you want in the game has a mod that somebody's made for it.

The freedom to just build stuff like I had when I was young, playing with Lego.
The music is nice and relaxing, and when playing on peaceful I can just take my time and have a nice evening.
I like the story behind the game to. It's really inspires to see people succeed in the indie game world.

In minecraft, there are no rules! You can go everywhere, you can do everything. There are no locked off areas or ledges you simply can't jump over. There are so many possibilities that it gets overwhelming at times! You can explore, you can mine, you can craft, build, discover redstone, make wacky contraptions, you can even change the texture pack and install a mod!

I find the game entertaining due to the whole open ended shtick they sell, that and because I've been around since the beginning, so I almost feel this kind of bond with the game (so to say). There's obviously the element of freedom, which entices most people.

I've always loved the infinite world size, I don't think there are any other games like minecraft that have this (that aren't just minecraft clones). There's also the amazing mod support that lets you change the game so much that it's barely even the same game anymore (look at the hack/mine modpack)

What I like about Minecraft is its infinite world, meaning I am able to build anything I would like without caring about losing any space. I don't have to destroy failed projects and other things If I don't like it, I can just move places to another biome.

I like that fact that you can play on any mainstream Minecraft server on ANY version of Minecraft. Cracked or full, you could always play on legit servers.

I also like that I can make anything that I want to. Plus, I get to play with my current friends and make more.

As most other people said, the freedom in it is awesome. Multiplayer capabilities is always a plus for games too.

The game itself is diverse and allows players to do almost anything. There are hundreds of Minecraft communities, some children/teenager/adult-friendly, or mixed altogether. The modding community is enormous, with hundreds of coders writing unique mods which makes this sandbox game more interesting to play. Overall, Minecraft is a game that is capable of doing a lot of things than what the average person would think. All three reasons I posted above are why I like Minecraft.
