What do you think Minecraft is currently lacking, and why?

    What really irritates me is how useless the Dragon Egg from the Ender Dragon is, I do believe that the experience you get from the Ender Dragon is not enough, we need something special, something that really makes it seem worthwhile. Maybe if you could take care of the Dragon Egg, and after several Minecraft days, it'd actually hatch and you'd have your own Baby Dragon which you'd be able to use as a pet to help you in battle, or maybe even use it as a mount once it grows older. Heck, maybe have it used for a potion of some sort that gives you.. let's say invincibility for about ten seconds or so! I don't know, what do you guys think? In which aspect do you think Minecraft seems lacking, in a way?

    I think Minecraft is lacking in the early game food system. I think that a lot of people find it hard to not starve themselves in survival mode early on, without cheats. It's hard to grow a sustainable farm that can feed you that early on and animals are costly to reproduce.

    I know that this game is just about building and being creative, but maybe it would be good if this game has an official story mode. I think I heard once that Mojang was planning on doing this but I have not seen anything happen yet. Maybe with a story mode we will get to know what's all the deal with Herobrine, the Ender Dragon, where all the zombies come from, who are the villagers, etc. So much could be explained about the fundamental things of Minecraft with a story mode.

    I've said it before and I'll say it again. Flying machines. I think a hot air balloon or a hang glider would bring the game to a whole nother level.

    Personally, I think that'd be pretty cool and would add a bit of depth to the game, I really hope that it would be legitimate, though.
    I don't really think I'd want to know that much about Herobrine, keeping in mind that he's nothing more than an average player, but a story behind the in-game monsters would be great.

    I think that the game is sort of lacking variety in a way. There's some things that don't really seem very appealing to me anymore, or at least they started to feel repetitive. These things may include things like food. I feel that maybe different kinds of food should be added to the game, just to make it feel a bit more different!

    Yeah, TheCleric12 shared a very similar idea, and I agree with both of you, there should in fact be an increase in the types of food, and maybe sources of food due to the fact that even I myself know full well that it's rather difficult to obtain any sort of food early on, especially if you're unlucky enough not to find any cows or pigs in your proximity.
