What got you into playing lol?

A friend of mine showed it to me a few years ago. We had a lot of fun playing when we grouped up with more friends, but I found playing solo to be boring. The lack of meta at the time when I started playing the game, at the end of season 1, made it really fun.

 

I watched a few championship series live on Twitch. The emotions of the casters and insane plays made me want to try out the game.

 

I found out about it because of an online friend who streamed on twitch. At first I just chilled out at his room to show support but eventually I got entertained by the game and decided to try it out for myself. I got hooked just after the first few games but eventually I got tired of it too and now I have gone back to just watching.

 

A friend introduced me to the game and then I saw videos of it and thought it looked cool. I was pretty much in after just a few games. It does hook you if you get into it early.

 

Always heard about it but I decided to pick it up when my friends pressured me and I was on a rsps and this guy was apparently having fun on LOL, so I decided to download it then and there.

 

This girl I liked was really into it. I thought I would impress her if I knew the ropes, and she would ask me to play with her sometime if I got her attention. Well, long story short, it didn't But I kinda liked it, so why not continue and see if I can really be good at the game with as many characters as possible? Same thing I did with Dota 2. I obsessed about the game, the characters, familiarizing myself with the moves and how to utilize them. Fun times.

 

I started playing after some friends quit Heroes of Newerth and we all decided to give up and try out League of Legends, honestly the game wasn't that good at the time, and there were really crappy textures/UI until the big investment from their chinese partner. I still have a special place in my heart for HoN but League of Legends definitely turned out to be an addictive and fun game much more skillful than we gave it credit for.

 

All my friends were playing it and I thought about giving it a try. I actually liked it and started playing it a lot. I got used playing Kayle and Karthus and that got me into playing. Have to mention that this happened like 4 years ago.

 

I started playing it because a friend of mine said that it was the best game he ever played. He reached me how to play and I got hooked ever since.

 

I agree. Once you play your first few games you'll know if it's for you or not. I was actually a bit hesitant at first because I had a good feeling I'd get hooked and I didn't want to risk getting addicted and spending too much time on it but thankfully I am able to control it somewhat now that I am hooked on it but I do tend to spend a lot of time watching streams and tournaments.

 

All of my friends played it, and were constantly bugging me to make an account and play it with them. This was in season 1. My first game didn't go so well, I was super confused (the only game I had really played before that time was Runescape, which is a totally different game concept than League) and didn't play again for a while until my friends convinced me to play again. After a few games, I fell in love and became addicted to playing. League has always been my staple game, even though I play most other games on and off.

 

A friend of mine got me into playing LoL 6 years ago, we were messing around with different MMORPG's and we stumbled upon League of Legends, a small game at that time. I got hooked instantly by the characters and gameplay.

 

Me and my best friend use to play a lot of Warcraft 3 back in the day and we were looking for a new game to play when League of Legends was in beta. We never liked Dota 1 but we decided to give League of Legends a try because our biggest complaint with Dota 1 was how clunky the game felt. We got hooked to League of Legends fairly quick and its been our favorite game ever since.

 

A patch lull in WOW. I think at the end of one of their expansions. Typically at that time is when I go hunting for new games. I love indies and small games, but one thing I believe is that there is a reason games are played by millions, there is something good in them. So I like saw the massive numbers of players playing a game called LOL and so decided to find out what it was about. It was my first game in that genre, having never played the original DOTA or anything like it.

 

I have a few friends that play it and they nagged me for months to try it out. I decided to give it a shot after a while and fell completely in love with it. It's a good thing I started playing with them as that made it a lot more fun.

 

My boyfriend played DOTA for a few years and I was never really that interested because I didn't want to start off as the noob of the group that he played with. When LoL came around I took the opportunity to join along with my friends so that I didn't fall behind on the curve. I didn't actually enjoy it that much at first, and dipped in and out of it, and eventually decided I didn't know enough about it so got a friend to tutor me while my boyfriend was at work so I could surprise him when he got home

 

My brother is now a semi-professional gamer but back then he was just a kid who's really into MMORPGs. One day he tells us about this cool game called League of Legends that's a lot like Dota so we all tried it but not before he was already silver ranked. lol. I think I sticked to playing LoL because of nostalgic memories playing with my siblings and friends.

 

Being new to this game it's difficult to imagine it's been up and running for so long. Makes me wonder what it looked like in its earlier days. Now it's so filled with different modes and champions.

 

Literally sheer boredom. I looked it up and figured I'd give it a shot...way too many hours later and I ended up putting it down, but I had a good run with it until then
