Yup, this is going to be one of those EA hating threads. Guess what, you are now able to play sports in Minecraft!

They would probably release weekly DLC packs for $19.99 each or something like that.

Oh lord, that would be horrible. They would probably limit skins like it's done on the Xbox and sell it for like $5 per 10 skins or something like that.

" $10 for an extra 10,000 BLOCKS in your world! buy today. "

Yeah, I can imagine something like you can only play on EA's own server, which means you need to pay an extra $15/month to use them...

I'd hate that! EA feels like one of those companies that are looking for money. I'd really hate for Minecraft to turn into that! So far, I think that Minecraft is great simply because you pay once for the full version and you have it forever. If EA were to own it, they'd probably require a monthly subscription or something.

EA has become one of the worst gaming publishers, a far cry from when they actually did something good for the gaming community in the 1980's and 1990's. If EA bought out Minecraft, it would be the end of all that is progressive updates, simplicity and fun all rolled into one. EA will bomb it. EA will demolish its fun-base and replace it purely with a 'let's make us more money by making people pay for items' then do worst crap, like send out lawyers to close down every MC server available, minus the private LAN ones maybe, then create their own mega server. Which by then, millions of MC players would have left the game and EA would just shrug it off as a 'tax write-off'.

Oh, God, no. I would hate if EA bought Minecraft. They'd probably give it an entire graphical update and add a whole bunch of Biomes that you could only get by buying DLC. You'd probably have something like a Soccerball and goal crafting recipe that gives you XP every time you make a goal and you use the XP to better your soccer skills. Then you'd go online and face people on a blocky soccer match. They'd just ruin the sandbox aspect of the game.

In reality, EA would probably just buy Mojang, and abandon it after a while; It has done this before in the past with companies like Westwood studios, Bullfrog and etc: It's no stranger to buying companies due to their success, and not really doing much with them.

This would be a really terrible thing for the game.
I can just imagine $10 DLC packs for each tier of materials for your tools.
That and the horse armor that would also be available :)

R.I.P Minecraft. EA would milk the game to hell. They might even make it a series! DLC Updates which we could have gotten for free with Mojang after purchasing Minecraft ONCE would now cost 15 dollars. I want to get this out of my head right now.

The would be horrible, the game would be ruin if it was to be owned by EA.. Everything would be more controlled even the concept and the content of the game wouldn't be the same anymore. Why? Everything would be under their control not only that everything would be limited, if they really did owned it, they would lose the Minecraft fan-base, slowly.

Well, yeah. EA is notorious for charging a lot of money for things like micro transactions and DLC packs, everything would be ruined and the player base would rapidly decline if EA were to suddenly take control.

That would be terrible, however, I highly doubt the Mojang would ever be forced into such a position. If it did occur though, I can't even fathom the amount of different micro-transactions that would be added to the game.

There would be huge protests I can imagine for EA to give back the game to Mojang. EA however, will just ignore it like the big bag of shit they are.

If EA bought Minecraft, I'd probably always keep the old version and never ever update. Even if I lost multiplayer capability, it would be worth it and I would play solo all day long. EA is a selfish company, and they'll find all the ways they could steal our money. They will eventually ruin the game and then completely abandon and shut it down.

I very highly doubt Mojang would sell their best selling game to one of the worst companies in the world today. If it somehow "magically" happened, however, I won't be surprised if the Minecraft population decreased on the first week. "Pay $9.99 to play Multiplayer today!" is one thing we'll probably see if EA decides on buying Minecraft. I bet EA servers will crash more often as well.

Lol, this made me laugh. I have never understood the logic behind buying virtual clothing when you can use it on real clothing in real life.

    EA buying Minecraft...hmmm
That wouldn't be so bad. I'm joking, I'm joking. How can anyone think I'm actually serious?

EA has built up it's reputation with sloppy launches, terrible micro-transactions, being online every time and to top it all off, has been voted the worst company in America. Now, I respect some of it's games, I like Battlefield 4, I like SimCity and I like Mirror's Edge and I'm pretty sure I can name a few others. But, they didn't create it, they just merely published it. I should be complimenting Dice not EA. EA just really took a really good game like SimCity and then decided to make it all glitches, being online only, and having one of the worst launches ever. Minecraft already has server problems, with connections being timed out and having all these Java problems. But, those can be sorted out.

If you add EA to an already problematic server system, then we have the all time winner of the worst multiplayer game. But, that's not all of it. The servers themselves are great, containing addictive mini games and such. It's just that we can't even access it!
