So MMOs aren't exactly well known for their stories, but once in a while, an interesting or touching quest comes along. Do you remember any?

Mine comes from World of Warcraft. There was a story where there was a family of ghosts who didn't know they were dead. I can't remember it too well since it was like 2 years ago, but I think the ghost girl was looking for her dad. I think they all got wiped out by the undead. It was pretty sad.

The Red Mage Artifact Armor questline. You meet the ghost of a red mage who was murdered and proceed to speak to his surviving daughter and she is shocked about it. You then end up purifying some old armor of his and keeping it and then you release his spirit from being in between the next world and the mortal one at the very end as he says goodbye to his daughter. It was soo good.

Back in the day cabal had this level 90 something quest one of the hardest fights you had to do in any mmo you could only solo it and it didn't matter how much defense you had those mobs would damn near one hit kill your butt, the quest is still in the game, but they made it piss easy now which is really sad.

My favorite quest line is the Wrathgate quest on Northrend in WoW.

Here is a link to the cinematic at the end so you understand why I like it so much:

Mine is from WoW as well, I always even to this day laugh at the quest where you have to kill the goblin cook on the pirate ship. It is an easy fight but the story and his name being Cookie always made me laugh. Doing this while listening to Korn or Ramnstein always synced up to making it feel epic even though it wasn't.

Cookie in the Deadmines? Fun times, I remember going through it for the first time and being amazed by everything. Van Cleef and the Defias Brotherhood :D

Even more amazing when they redid that area when Cataclysm came out, that dungeon went from good to AMAZING!

Yup that's it the deadmines! I was blown away by that quest line and the dungeon when vanilla WoW first came out. I didn't know it was updated though. What changed in it? Can you still solo it if you pull mobs?

I also was a fan of the Wrathgate quest. It represented a turning point in the game. The work you do in Northrend for the various dragons seems like an aside until the cinematic links them together. You see old enemies fighting together and you even get a flashback to Warcraft III when Silvanas was turned. If this isn't my favorite quest f all time, it would be in my top five.

I never played it but I used to watch my older brother play that game and I distinctly remember that quest for the cinematic, at the time I quite liked it, but then again I was pretty new to computer games.

In WoW I remember questing for the Ethereals in Netherstorm very vividly. Lots of biodomes, lots of powerful enemies, lots of manaforges to plunder. For a leveling zone, it felt really climactic and epic. I hope they try to recapture that feel sometime soon.

Mine is from WoW as well. While technically a quest, it was actually a raid. The raid of Gruul in the Burning Crusade expansion. The whole fight is really brutal and you have to be on your toes all the time. Me and my guild had a lot of fun and I even came in second on the DPS list. :D
