Past or present, It doesn't matter. My favourite server was a server called Aeronetwork, it was small in the start and I was in a small faction, We had the biggest mine in the server. Lots of fun times building that mine, what about you?

My favorite server is the Plotmadness (game.mcplotmadness.com) because it has a small, freindly community, (literally, I've made many in-game friends there) plenty of survival world to build in, with enough rescources, there's plenty of empty plots in the creative plot world, it has minigames, creative, town ypvp, nonpvp, super creative, and factions. It is a free-language server, but everyone there is too friendly to scream cusswords into the chat. overall, a pretty nice place. plus, it's a public server, just not that well known.

AWNW.net is a good server. If you're into griefing and PvP, then the server is not for you. Also if you enjoy trolling, flaming and making immature remarks, it's also not the place for you. It has some strict but easy rules to follow. They focus more on a smaller community with quality content than a large community, but they are pretty popular regardless. They have visited Minecon and spoken with the creators of Minecraft, even took pics with them too.

Overall pretty friendly, fair and strict. They have Skyblock, Survival, Hardmode and Creative. They also have contests that award different prizes and an active community.

For servers I am currently playing on Cowcraft.net I can't seem to get enough of the server and the fact that it is actually still growing makes me happy. Most servers get to a certain point and the owners just stop trying to add on new things and update it. I mostly do Skyblock mode because there is something about making a huge island all on your own steam when you started with just a small little place.

I might just have to try this server out, I think I will do that right now. Probably just end up doing Skyblock though.

My favorite Server is called Divinitycraft. I have been playing on that server for a really long time, (Over 3 years now) and it never dissapointed me. Good admins, Nice community (Apart from a few people but hey what can we do about them?) Its factions but with a twist. Its not a obsidian base factions server but more like a castle building factions with 40 max power.

My favorite server is Lord of the Craft, it's a huge roleplaying server with a very interactive world. I haven't been on there in a while so I don't know if it's as good as it used to be. I'd have to say its only fault is that half the nobles were named after Game of Thrones characters :p

You kind of have to be careful on servers like that in general though. The last RPG server that I was on it seemed like all the fourteen year old kids were nobles or Kings. And I am thinking "Well I should be the King because these kids have the maturity level of a fart." I mean I played on it for awhile as I liked the story, but when the King's started porting to people messing around with them or they would do what is called a server bomb, where if you are above ground you get nuked. I had to leave it. Hopefully yours has mature people that want to actually play the game.

I always run one on my PC and let my friends join and leave as I'm playing. It's nice.

Yeah that's what a lot of the smaller RPGs tend to be, but for LOTC you have to post a lengthy application to get in.
