What mini-games are fun to play with friends?

Skyblock wars is pretty fun if you play it on a good server with all your friends. Pretty simple to get the hang of if you know how to survive and build up super fast in the skyblock setting.

 

I like snowball fights and hunger games. I like being able to team up with my friends against other people. The only thing I don't really like about HG is that in most servers it's a pay to win situation.

 

Spleef is a great one if you don't want to install any mods or anything like that since you can play entirely in vanilla. Basically you have an arena and you fight to be the last man standing by breaking the floor of the arena to make other players fall through. It's pretty fun.

 

The Noxcrew made a show with popular minecraft personalities back in the day, then they released the maps so you could have access to the games they played. I remember playing a few with my friends and we had a blast!

I can't find them anymore, but here are some examples of those minigames.

 

I saw a mini game that's played in France the other day. Can't remember what it was called but it translated to little thimble.

Basically you build a high diving board -- high enough to die if you hit the ground from -- over a pit of water.

The first player jumps, and if he lives, places a block in the pool of water.

By the end of the game there's just a little 1x1 space of water and that's the little thimble.

Once the second to last player dies, the last player has to jump in the water and live in order to actually win. If he or she dies, no one wins. The game is a draw.

6+ players.

 

I love playing Hunger Games with my friends, we usually do it at least once a week and the winner gets bragging rights until we play it again

 

Hunger Games is definitely something everyone should try at least once in Minecraft.
Aside from that, anything that RoosterTeeth suggests should also be fun.
Just make your own map and make up your own game; Minecraft is all about creativity!

 

Gotta agree, Spleef all of the way. It is great in mining servers/prison servers, too. To break the monotony of your mining in the reset-able mines you and your friends can make your own spleef arena and play a round or two.

 

Bow spleef and Quake Craft are 2 great mini games to play with friends on the hypixel server, but it is a bit hard to get into a match with friends on the hypixel server. I love playing against your friends, and bow spleef is fresh of breath air to regular spleef and is simple to play, so you don't have to explain anything to your friends.

 

Skyblock is pretty fun, especially in the beginning when it's super crowded and you have to be very careful not to hit each other over. I play Quakecraft a bit with my friends too.

 

I love to play KitPVP when I want to practice for survival/factions and Skyblock when I just want to have some fun with friends and create my own world in the sky!

 

Hunger Games is obviously a fan favorite among people. Teaming with your friends and conquering the world of Hunger Games is probably one of the best things to do in Minecraft. Skyblock is also one of my favorites. It's so fun playing, the limit usage of space is so challenging especially with trolling friends playing. It's immensely fun and probably the funniest mini game out there. And you know what, play Conquest in Mineplex, with you friends on one team in a huge party. Probably the most satisfying thing ever in Minecraft multiplayer. Ever.

 

Gladiators! You and your friends ride saddled pigs and have a sword or bow & arrow, and you try to kill eachother. When a pig or player is killed, the other one wins.

Or, you could play spleef jockeys, which is where every player has whatever you would use for spleef instead of a weapon, and you basically play spleef, but you're riding a pig!

You could also play duck hunt, where there is a large room with a bunch of chickens, and each player gets a bow and arrow. At the end, the player with the most chicken and feathers wins.

I also came up with soul sand parkour, which is where there is a lava pit and small pillars of soul sand jutting out of the pit, and you have to jump on the pillars to reach the other side without dying.

Also, you could play a game where you have a few minecart tracks, and everyone get in one. There will be one track that leads to the end, but the other ones have the track going into a lava pool, end portal, TNT, or other killing methods. And no player is allowed to get out of their minecart.

You could play Zombie apocalypse, which is where there is a large room, and lots of smaller rooms on the sides filled with Zombies, and there is a lever that opens all the doors, letting the zombies come out. You must kill all of the zombies without dying yourself. None of the players are allowed to flip the lever during the game. You could also try this with skeletons, silverfish, or whatever hostile mob you like.

Also, you can play trivia course (It does not need to be minecraft trivia), where there is a question on the top of an Iron door. You pull the lever and go in. There are 3 or 4 answer choices, and a lever for each. The correct answer opens the next door. The other ones will kill the players somehow.
There are about 21 questions, but you can use however many you want.

 

Boat races are a lot of fun. They're fun to set up, too. Just make a lake and make obstacles, that everyone has to avoid.
Other fun games can be really simple. like trying to stay on top of a tree while a couple archers are shooting at you. If they archers knock everyone off, they win. If at least everyone manages to stay atop, they win.

 

Snowball fights are fun and easy to gather supplies for!
