Do you miss playing a certain MMORPG? Maybe because it has shut down or its user base has gone extremely low that it seems like a ghost town? Or perhaps it's a really old game and now overshadowed by the new games with crazy good graphics?

Personally, the MMORPG that I miss the most is Ragnarok Online. I had an extremely fun time playing Ragnarok with my friends. I miss spending the night conquering or defending castles in WoE then battling it out with fellow players in PvP.

How about you? What MMORPG do you miss playing?

I was actually thinking of Ragnarok Online myself. I played a game recently similar to Ragnarok called Pacifica Online. You can access it through Facebook and Kongragate, and its pretty good, you should check it out if you miss Ragnarok Online. :)

As cliche as it has become to say this, I really miss WoW when it was first released. I understand the game is much better mechanically and graphically now. But nothing they can ever introduce to the game will bring back the epic moments I had with my friends when playing that game from the day it was launched. I really miss that feeling.

I miss Ragnarok Online, I first played it I don't know 10 years ago ? When everything was pure and innocent, and nobody knew how to build their characters where to allocate stats, where to farm items, how to farm them etc. I tried to play it few years ago, and it just wasn't exciting anymore. RIP RO You'll be forever my top mmorpg <3.

I'll make sure to check out this "Pacifica Online", thanks for the suggestion.

I will always miss Phantasy Star Online for Dreamcast. It was my first MMORPG, and the one I'm going to base my likes and dislikes for any other MMORPG I play on. If they brought it back, I would still play it and enjoy it as much as I did way back when.

Thank you for mentioning Pacifica Online. I haven't heard of it before. I will definitely check it out! I hope it'll give me a similar experience as I got from playing Ragnarok.

Ultima Online I'd say mainly because it was the very first MMORPG I played and literally the very first game I spent sometime on PC. I was so bad back then but after playing WOW for so many years and raiding religiously,I'd like to see how I do now in that game. Another one is more of an action based RPG but HELLGATE LONDON will always have a special place in my heart. It's almost similar to Diablo but I just really loved how big the character was.

I miss playing Star Wars. That was a great game, but EA pulled the servers for some unapparent reason. I really miss my online friends with whom I used to pay that game. That's what happens when a game is shut down. A cruel facet of MMORPGs. We know that almost all the MMOs will be shut down one day.

I really miss Earth Eternal. It was an obscure MMORPG where you would pick a humanoid animal species as your character. They looked a bit like furries I suppose. There was a myriad of animals to pick from. I remember that there was even a robot. As far as gameplay goes, it was a pretty basic MMO. Leveling, quests, grinding, etc. The story takes place in a far future where humans have gone extinct, and all that's left are the various animal races. I think I enjoyed it because it was a really small community and everyone there was nice. The last thing I remember from the game was a special Christmas event that I took part in. I forget exactly what you had to do, but one of the rewards was a candy cane sword.
Some time after that, the game got shutdown because the original owners, Sparkplay Media, had gone bankrupt. They put the rights to the game up for auction and a Japanese company called Sankando won. They attempted to reboot it under the title Ikimonogatari. Last I heard, Sankando went offline for whatever reason.

I'd really love to play that game again.

Right, no MMORPG will last forever. Which Star Wars game are you talking about?

I am talking about Star Wars: Glalaxies. They decided to pull the plug all of a sudden as they were preparing for the Star Wars: The Old Republic launch.

Yeah, I remember that a couple of years ago. I played a bit myself, but my brother was really into it. He was devastated when the game shut down. It had a good run.

I for one don't get into MMOs anymore because I know that they will be shut down one day. It's the harsh truth.

I miss Everquest. I was hooked on that in college. It was my first MMORPG. I actually was a test user when it first debuted.

Why do you miss playing that? It
s f2p and it's still alive. A lot of players still play this game on a daily basis. You should give it a go again sometime.

There are several games really, some games from my childhood like Runescape (LOL) got completely ruined and also Rusty Hearts. It is still a great game and I still play from time to time but it's hard to log on because it's like ghost town now and nobody makes parties and you can't really do dungeons on your own. :(

I miss playing Rising Force online. I know some people didn't like it due to heavy grinding, but what I like most about the game is the race vs race vs race (yes that's right, there are 3 races going against each other) element to it. With that said, it is not your typical PVP game where you either have to enter an arena to battle it out with another player or ask for permission to have a PVP match. With RF online, should you go to a neutral zone and come across a player from an opposing race who is determine to kill anyone from other factions, either you run for your life or fight the player. There is no option to reject PVP invitation or whatever, kill or run are your only options. Too bad the hackers ruined such a beautiful game. :(

I miss playing Exteel and Dungeon Runner a lot...
They were my first online games and I had so much fun! But NCSOFT decided to close both... :(

Star Wars Galaxies, pre-CU. I played that game since launch and just absolutely loved everything about the game. No Jedis yet. The game was so open and fun. My main was a bothan smuggler who sold hand crafted drugs. I just farmed and ran my shop and hung out, with the occasional PVP. Spend most of my money on ridiculously expensive clothes. It is by far my favorite MMO experience.

I miss creating Heros in City of Heroes/Villains, though the game play was a little shallow.
