What Stalker shall i buy?

    which videogame of the STALKER series would you advise me to buy?

    It's a tough call, as I enjoyed them each in their own separate ways. Clear Sky definitely had the most action of the three, yet Call of Pripyat took the things that worked from the prior two games and made them better. So, with this I would have to say Call of Pripyat. That is, unless you intend to follow the story... in which case you should start out with Shadow of Chernobyl.

    ^That sounded like a riddle haha

    I would go with call of pripyat. The game makes you feel like a real stalker. The other games are more for the story but I like the gameplay and mechanics in pripyat. Best part is that you get to make the ending how you want it. Everything you do affects the ending.

    Buy Shadow of Chernobyl and play it unmodded. While the Stalker series' plot isn't its strongest feature, playing the games out of release order (SoC > CS > CoP) does ruin a few things for you. There's also the problem when playing later games then earlier ones that the earlier games feel like they're missing a lot of content.

    For example, CS and CoP both feature weapon and suit upgrades, while SoC does not. SoC might feel less fun due to the absence of upgrades after playing CoP or CS.

    You can pick the games up fairly cheaply on Amazon (shop around the various European Amazon sites), so you could pick all three games up without putting a substantial dent in your wallet.

    Yeah, SoC is good, and the graphics are still good (download the 2009 complete mod). But man, I can't wait for Stalker 2 to come out on consoles, PC games just don't work with my poor brain... :)

    Don't buy stalker SoC!!! You can get it for free. The developers released the beta of the game for free. It is the full game, just that there are a few bugs.

    It's an earlier build, which means it's much more buggy, not as complete and can't really be modded.

    You don't download it for free! Even if it is legal, released from the devs, buggy full game. The developers are in hard times as it is and they don't need people that download it for free.
    If you like the game, buy it. you get a better game while you support the developers to make more games.
    Now get out of here, stalker.

    I'd have to agree with Strelok on this one. Even though buying this game won't support the developers (since it's been out for awhile) I'd still recommend buying it. But come on guys, chill. :)

    Well hey since they did sell over 1 million copies of STALKER. I think that with the release of STALKER 2 on console too, they are good with money.

    I wouldn't count on it. The studio was close to disbanding and with it Stalker 2. Even if if it was a rumour it had to come from somewhere.
    And Stalker 2 haven't even been released yet so they don't get income from it.
