I can't be the only one who is annoyed by how rare these are. More and more people are getting up to the level cap and moving into the late game zones, and yet the mid-range materials (elm, karthite, striped leather, chiffon) are in rididulously short supply. I spent a couple of hours questing around Dendrome earlier, and was up to my eyeballs in the top-end stuff, but had four whole pieces of Elm Lumber to show for my efforts.

The starter zones are full of linden/gantimite with the very occasional karthite/elm spawn, the mid-range zones aren't predominately one or the other, and the end-game zones are almost all rhenium/madrosa. It severely limits the number of areas which have a decent supply of the stuff and makes it really annoying to try and farm yourself.

It's gotten so that the AH is completely flooded with Rhenium and Madrosa to the point that I can hardly even give it away, but the price of the mid-range stuff has gone completely bananas. I'm not sure if this is a deliberate design choice to force everyone to either get gouged on the AH or farm it themselves, but it stinks. If the Grandmaster crafting dailies are going to continue to require mid-range materials then there need to at least be a sensible number of nodes in the endgame areas to collect the damn stuff

No, No, No, No. They shouldn't change anything. There is more mid range mats available in the game than anything else, esp after all the people that whined that they couldn't get mid range mats in steppes and Ashora. If you want mid range mats, they are there, just go get them. Do not pollute the only zone with a reasonably high spawn rate of the top end mats again.

I can spend 10 minutes in a mid tier zone and get enough mats for ALL the dailies for a week AND the weeklies. Anyone complaining about mid tier mats just needs to get off their butt and go farm it.

I'm hardly a 'vet' in SL, my first toon is only 1/2 way through 59, but she's well stocked with all mats fro,m just one leveling pass through the zones questing and doing Carnages.

Given that mobs can be foraged and mined then far more mats drop now I remember the old zones used to, all her gathering skills were capped before she hit 57 and given the fact that skillups seem to come far slower than they used to means she garnered a large quantity of everything.

I really don't comprehend how you're saying mats are hard to come by.

As a matter of affect, I have the complete opposite problem. While questing and doing carnages, etc for faction, I have collected more of the mid level mats (elmwood and striped hide) than any of the high/low level stuff. I looked last night and found 2 stacks of each that I forgot I had. I usually give it away to friends for there dailies and end up buying the ocassional 2 pc of linden I need for a daily because its harder to find when in a hurry. You just goota go out and explore and find out where it is. There's a lot of hot spots to find the mid level stuff just gotta find it....and make yourself a map.
