What was the largest project you built in Minecraft?

Someone already asked about the time it took to do a project, and I don't mind if you want to include that too, but I was more interested in how many blocks you think you used. If you could estimate the size of the project in real world measurements that would be nice as well. Remember: a Minecraft block is three cubic feet.
My largest project was a spaceship. It is about 400 feet long and 9 stories tall. I estimate it has half a million blocks in it.

I think mine was an Enderman farm. It's not THAT big of a project, but it felt pretty long to me. Lots of work put into that thing! But in the end it's all worth it.

My biggest project to date would have to be my olypmic pool. Over 160 blocks tall, 400 blocks long and 300 blocks wide, the thing is massive. It took 5 months to build and I am very proud of it. I was inspired to make it after watching the 2012 summer olympics.

I've probably used a few hundred thousand blocks in some of my larger builds. Thank god for the wonders of creative mode, though.

I don't use anything but creative mode in my projects. A large project can take months or even years, there is no way I would take the time to harvest all the materials. If there was no creative mode I would have never started the game. My son likes to be adventurous and play survival. I asked him why. He said that it makes a completed structure more satisfying when he's done.

Myself and my partner build a giant underwater pyramid from sea level down to bedrock. Took about 3 months with regular play I think. I also build a giant sheep out of cotton, I had to bred alot of sheep for that.

My largest project was the Gladiator Arena, which took me about 2 months to build. I used hundreds of materials, and I wanted to be sure that everything is like I want. About one week later my disk self-formatted (Don't ask me, I really don't know how it could happen) and I lost all my work, screenshots etc. I had also some other projects. I was following Pixel Art.

Working on a new Survival Games Map with many members of the ex-Team Vareide who made the original Survival Games. The map is huge and a ton of work, so progress is slow and it is hard to stay motivated, but I find it fun. Have made full adventure map events with some other event builders for the server I am on that can last many hours when people play through it. They are seasonal lore events so 20-30 people as a group experience the story and fight together. It's really cool stuff. Can take months to make one.

My largest project was to build a little server where most of the walking paths are up in the trees. Like a tree village. I, and a few other people, had to build the tree village up high, and expand it in a super large area which did take a while to think up of a design and making the stuff to furnish the place around.

My largest project was a beautiful, massive castle I built on a creative server. There was a really awesome lava moat, I was very proud of it. I have enjoyed building little small cottages but big projects were always lots of fun. I've built some maps, too, but just basic stuff for me and my friends.

I modified a village and made it like a huge empire where you can find everything you want. It's like a mini-Rome! :D
I also had a lot of projects underwater, but those were hard to build.

My largest build was a Victorian styled castle on top of a hill. It took a long time to build it and eventually, I gave up. It had a town below, surrounded by forest, a path that winded down, a long bridge that went over a tall cliff and moat below.

At the moment, I am considering of building an Imperial Destroyer from the Warhammer 40k universe.

My largest project that I build was a town, but in midway through, I gave up because it consumes too much time for me. Never finished it.

I play on faction servers so my biggest project was a 3x3 chunk base (each chunk is around 32 blocks) with over 20 walls going up to sky limit from bedrock level. Each wall had water down on it to prevent TNT cannons as well. Inside the base we had several rooms.

The largest project that me and a friend of mine did was some sort of a mountain home with a working toilet. We actually made a toilet that works, and it flushed the water down the mountain. It was amazing. It was fun doing it and it required many tries, because we just couldn't get it right for some reason. In the end, we succeeded and it was fun for about 10 minutes. Dropping cubes in toilets and watching them go out the other side is not fun for a long time.

My largest project was my own version of Saruman's tower from LOTR, it hit the height limit and was at least 20x20 at the base. It probably wasn't half a million blocks like yours though. Of course its long gone with all the updates minecraft has had since I made it.

Me and a couple of friends tried to construct a copy of the Nakatomi Plaza from die hard.. wish I had some pictures. We rarely played so it took us about a year or two. Good times. We eventually blew it up and crashed all our computers.

I built a castle so big it took up nearly a quarter of the map (PE version) which was several stories high. I was afraid at one point that my world would run out of stone (once again, small PE world). I couldn't seem to get the lighting right though, as there would always be something or another spawning within the castle.

My biggest project was a tekkit factory build. I had to set up all of the machinery to provide energy, build auto crafting tables, and build a funneling system. It was a half-success. I enjoyed it nonetheless..
