We all know a few of the best games, but what about the worst games, ever? I've come across a lot of these, I still do from time to time when I'm in the mode to try a new game that I haven't played before. I just want to know what do you think the worst games are, so I know them and not waste any time trying them.

    Mine would be:

    1. Hellgate
    3. OZ
    4. Neveron
    5. Maple Story
    6. RuneScape

PS: I don't want to offend any fans of these games. This is just my opinion.

I have to agree with you, the worst game I've ever played has to be Hellgate. I don't really know why I don't like it, I guess it's just not that interesting to me. We do disagree on one thing though, Runscape is one of my all time favorite games. To each his own, I guess.

I would have to say for me it's Lineage 2. I started playing it because a friend did and they convinced me since they were fairly high level. That was a pretty huge mistake though I dont think I've ever played such a grindy MMO since.

I'm going to vouch for NFS: MW. The single player was well designed and it was enjoyable, however when it came down to multiplayer it was just horrible. All the hackers and the people who just downloaded a save game were ruining the whole experience and I would never install the game again for that specific reason.

Hellsgate and Maple Story has to be first. I just can't fathom even liking it to be honest. I just want to burn the memory of ever playing it.

Star Wars Galaxies after the so called dreaded NGE (New Game experience) has nearly made me want to click a /vomit emote non-stop. One of the worst game experiences when a decent sci-fi RPG was instantly turned into some dumbed down online FPS for 6 year olds.

If we're not just talking about only MMOs, then the worst game I played was Slender.

Superman 64. Look it up. It is a travesty for mankind that this thing exists.

I hear this example a lot when referring to game-breaking patches, but I didn't play SW:G.
    What did NGE *do* exactly?

    History lesson:
The original SWG game had no apparent levels. You had a bunch of skills, limited by an overall cap, and could forget skills and learn new ones. One day you could be a Master Chef, the next you could be a Master Rifleman, having forgotten all your cooking skills. When relative combat strength needed calculating a rather complex algorithm did it, that nobody understood the full implications of. Everyone paid for long-duration buffs, and the combat part of the game was broken, but enjoyable.

The Combat Upgrade arrived, shoehorning the 22 professions that existed into a few categories, and establishing a level range from 1 to 80 (I think). All monsters now also had a level (before they just had stats that made them more or less dangerous). A full combat profession netted you a lvl 80 character. If you were lower level than a monster you took extra damage, if you were higher level you dealt extra damage. This fixed some problems, but the level system was a sticking point.

Some months later, the NGE was announced and pushed live in the course of about fourteen days. The original release was beyond extrodinarily buggy. It turned the game into a twitch shooter, culled the 22 professions to 9 "iconic" professions, and firmly entrenched the level system even more than before. Many beloved professions were removed outright (like creature handler, not a trace of it remains). It felt like something they came up with and tried to release live about a week later, it was that bad and buggy. At least they didn't fuck much with the crafting part of the game.

The real problem was that they had released an expansion pack literally within 30 days prior to announcing the NGE. One of the rewards of buying that expansion was a necklace that provided bonuses to creature handling, whichw as removed from the game.

I am gonna have to go with the Silver Surfer for the NES, if you don't know it, look it up, it's an obscure little game that is probably the mecca of bad games. Awful controls, absolutely terrible gameplay, and very very difficult. Yes, the main problem is, it's extremely difficult. If you ever get to try it through an emulator or an old NES, know that you have been warned. Also look up AVGN's review, that should clear it up.

I usually do research before buying a game, so never really bought a bad game. My biggest failure would have to be Age of Conan. I was in the beta, so knew the game had major issues, mostly tech problems. But the devs stated in no uncertain terms that there was a big patch coming right before launch that would clear them up.

Probably the only game I ever bought that I felt like I didn´t get my money´s worth out of.

Yes, Superman 64. That abomination that we called a game. The atrocity, and the horror. I wouldn't touch that game with a 10-feet poll even if I get paid to play it. I can't really think of any for PC, seems like I've never played a game I hate on PC. Bad yes but nothing to the point that I despise it.

That game wasn't bad, it was horrible! I'm not even sure how or why they thought it would have been a good game. I'm confused when such games get released, maybe kids can go ahead and produce better games than Superman 64

The worst game I've played recently was that new Medal Of Honor game. Oh, and Postal 3. The second Postal game was SOOO good! I had such high hopes for the third to be just as monumental.

Maplestory, I can't see how people like that game. I didn't enjoy it at all. I thought I would give it a try after a few friends fell in love with it, but I couldn't get into it.

I have to say, recently, the worst games I've played were the Regular Show and Adventure Time games. I had such high hopes coming from my love of the shows, but I thought the games were terrible. These and the 3DS Castlevania game that came out last year. I absolutely hated that game.
