    Hey guys!

What was the first MMORPG you've ever played? Did it interest or disinterest you in the genre?

My first MMORPG was Final Fantasy XI. I found out that it was very slow-paced and sometimes confusing, but it did interest me in MMORPGs. I had to learn my own ways to make Gil and it was interesting how the market was influenced by players alone. It also introduced me to some good people who I am close friends with to this day.

I stayed on that game up until the introduction of Seekers of Aduolin, when I realized that I wasn't having the fun I used to and most of my friends had left to play Final Fantasy XIV instead.

My first experience with MMORPG’s was Vanguard, it was subscription based and I thought that I had to pay it in order to explore the rich features of an MMO game, the fast-paced fighting was not my favourable style because my personality is based on thorough thinking and planning before acting, however the various activities such as gathering resources and crafting encouraged me to keep playing, but after reaching the top level the game started to appear boring for me therefore I have to look for completely different types of MMOS such as Uncharted Waters Online.

I think the first MMO I ever played was... Runescape a long, long time ago, a bunch of kids at my school played it, so I did as well. I honestly never played it much or even enjoyed it all that much either.

Runescape but never got into it, played an hour got bored and quit. My brother was completely obsessed with the game and got hooked. The first MMO I got into was WoW. Completely bypassed the Everquest era despite knowing about it, ect. I was more into JRPGs at the time and didn't have a great computer to play EQ.

My first MMORPG was Ragnarok I think they started around 10 to 11 years ago and was very popular back then. They were one of the firsts in the genre and really captured the Western market due to its storyline. I miss playing that game because I made a lot of friends in my guild and the pvp arena.

The first MMO that I played for any length of time was WoW, I tried other games like Runescape but just couldn't get into it. I played WoW for years off and on and wasted so much time on that game.

Ultima Online on some local, private shard. Almost everything was borked, but it still was an experience that I won't forget. To this day I'm missing many features from Ultima that modern MMORPGs could've had easily implemented, yet for some reason developers aren't really keen for having sandbox elements in their games.

I played the original Neverwinter Online back in like 1996 with AOL ( Dialup). I then played Ultima Online, also on dialup.. Almost insane to think you could play a MMORPG through a dialup modem.

FWIW, nothing so far has compared to Ultima Online from the first few years.

My first MMORPG was Runescape, and I see that I'm not alone in that! I played way back in...2005 or 2006? I don't exactly remember. I was pretty young at the time, and new at video games, so I didn't really play "right". I remember spending the majority of my time farming cow hides and cooking. I don't know why I found that to be so exciting, exactly, but I probably put a good 500 hours into that game back then.

I think it was Runescape or the first Final Fantasy games, can't recall what I played first but I really enjoyed it. After a while I started getting into WoW and that's when I realized I really like playing MMORPG games and the genre started growing and growing.

My first MMORPG was Metin2. It was back in 2010 when I started playing it. At that time it was one of the first MMOPRG played in the entire europe for the F2P category. It was good at that time because amon the F2P there wasn't a real choice as things like TERA/Aion F2P/ArcheAge/GW2 had yet to come up.
