    I tend to use my bow as much as possible, I just like being able to keep my distance from the creeps because my click timing with the sword is appalling.

    I prefer the sword, I chop down anything that comes near me with it. I suck at bow aiming, so I don't use that.

    I think I prefer the sword just because arrows can be a bit hard to craft if you don't have enough flint. But sometimes I have no choice if there are too many archer skeletons. But definitely try to use the sword as much as possible. Maybe when I upgrade my armor I can handle more stuff with a sword too

    I agree with OP, I prefer the bow as it means I can be as far away as possible from the mob and not risk losing any health. I also like being able to time my arrows so that they hit the mob as it is moving. Overall it's way better than using the sword in my opinion.

    I agree with you. I love playing melee characters and I love using a bow in minecraft. I enjoy keeping my distance and not risking anything. It's just a better option for me overall.

    The trick is to try guess where they are going and how long it will take the arrow to get there, takes a bit of practice but it is awesome when it comes off.

    Yeah and like I said before, that feeling when you predict where they are going and get the power just right and kill them, it is a great feeling!

    I like an enchanted diamond sword because they can deal so much damage when they have smite enchanted onto it.

    I like using the sword the best because I'm not too good at using arrows and I just like the melee feel much better.

    I like to use the bow for my main weapon. It's quick and you can change the amount of power you want in your hits. You also don't have to get up too close to any of the mobs, bows are great for creepers. The only thing that bothers me a little is making bows. I could have all the sticks and the gravel but I just can't find any feathers. Even from the zombies, they just never drop any for me. Other then that, the bow is definitely the weapon for me.

    Whatever game I play, if there is an option of using the bow as a weapon, that's what I try to equip my character. Minecraft's no different. In fact, there are some disadvantages of this weapon which makes it preferable. For one, resources for the weapon are renewable. You can also attack and even defeat mobs safely from a distance. It may take some getting used to but it's really worth the training.

    Diamond sword. It's just easier to keep the mobs in check. The axe is a close second for me too. I prefer anything not wooden as long as I have a choice.

    I just love the bow. Especially sniping enemies from afar, predicting where they're going to walk and how far the arrow is going to drop - then releasing the arrow and the sound of the arrow sinking into their pixel flesh, such a great feeling :'D
    Extra points with a flame enchanted bow ;)

    I do like the bow, I just suck at using it! No matter how many times I use it or practice with it, I can't improve!

    A sword works fine for me. I find that calculating the drop the arrow will take is too difficult for me, although it may just take some more practice.

    I always use a sword when PvPing. Most of the times I also bring a bow, if I have an enchanted one. It's great when trying to keep off enemies while healing. You could also help your teammates out if they are being attacked and you can't go in. However, even if I don't have a bow, I almost always bring in potions. I never bring damage potions, but I always have strength, speed and fire resistance on me. The rest of my inventory is filled with healing potions.
    The weird thing is that even if I'm playing on an McMMO server, I don't use an axe. I haven't really gotten used to it and I have come to hate it on some servers. They make it so overpowered it's unbelieavable.

    As much as I prefer the bow, I'm terrible with it. So I tend to stick with the sword. Because when all else fails, I can hack and slash my way through most things.

    I also prefer the bow and arrow in minecraft over any other weapon in the game. It actually happens to be the weapon I am most effective with. I also use the sword from time to time.

    I actually prefer swords. The main reason for this is due to my personal skills. Even though the arrows are cool and all that, I suck at aiming. That's why I like maybe a text. Needless to say, I like diamond swords the best. If I don't have one, then I prefer iron ones. Other than that I don't think any other swords are good, except for stone ones, but only when you are starting out.

    Me to, sometimes by hands shake a lot and makes my aiming rubbish even at close range :p I absolutely suck at aiming even on first person shooters
