What's up with filters?

OK, so when you swap masks you lose filter time. Makes sense... except for the part where it doesn't just deduct the time left on the current filter, but your entire stockpile.

Now, because of this "feature", I ended up with 0 filter time left... and not a damn thing happened. I just happily cruised around with zero time for the better part of an outdoor level.

Hence the question: what the hell is up with filters? Is this a bug, or did they actually do this on purpose so as to avoid unwinnable situations? If the latter, then what is the point of the filter system at all? All you have to do is let your time run down, swap, and then go on your merry way consequence-free.

It was a bug. For some reason, Artyom wasn't entering "heavy-breathing mode", so the game apparently thought I still had a viable filter. Exiting to the menu and continuing fixed it. Kind of a cool bug though. Also, the game stealing your spare filters when swapping masks is still weak.

Got this bug as well, tried to recharge my flashlight and it stuck. I couldn't change equipment or anything. Had to reload to a previous checkpoint. Hopefully this get fixed. The filter thing is kind of annoying in one way because the clock resets if you just take on your gasmask again. Not sure about filter count though, playing on Ranger and haven't seen any HUD yet ;)

I realized later that it stealing all your filter time is also a bug. That should only happen if you're under ~5 min total time (might be less on Ranger mode. Haven't gotten to that yet). In fact, I'm pretty sure that bug is what triggered the "infinite filter time" thing.
