When did you start playing WoW?

When did you first play WoW? Who or what got you into it? How long did you play for? I started in 2005 and my friend at school got me into it. I played until late 2010 before I finally quit. The game ate up years of my life and I decided to prioritize my time into better things. Still really enjoyed my time in the game and recommend that those who can play in moderation continue to play! :)

I started playing around my freshman year in high school. My computer was terrible and going to orgrimmar would freeze things up for minutes at a time. Dalran was out of the question as teleporting there would cause an instant disconnect. Despite all of this, I had a lot of fun leveling and playing what I could. I watched as the game went from WOTLK to Cata to MOP, all the time hoping to get a good gaming rig to play on. By the time I got one, I really didn't like what WoW had turned into.

I started it around 2005 when my boyfriend suggested it to me. It instantly got me hooked, I remember the days of leveling my night elf rogue. I got to lvl 24 and barely leveled from there. You see what we did is we got boosted from people that were higher level. Around level 16 I'd have finished all the quests in redridge mountains, which in turn led me to having no quests when I got to the appropriate level for the zone.

I started it around late 2005 and early 2006, possibly around the christmas break. I've known it for a while though, because I've seen my cousin play it, and it got me hooked from the very first minute that I saw him going around in his low-level human warrior. It just struck me and the sight of seeing him mine and quest and level up never left me, so when I already had a decent computer and reliable connection(was experiencing problems before that for months) I gave it a try, and I made a Tauren shaman. What resulted was years of gameplay with tons and tons of stories which ended exactly a year ago from now.

I originally started in Vanilla and stopped and started again probably 4 or 5 times since then. Always come back for the beginning of expansions and usually quit for awhile at some point during the middle or end of the game. I still play because its so easy to level alts these days and learning a new class is always fun for me.

I started in 2007 or so when a couple of friends ranted and raved about it. I got in a little after WOTLK was released and enjoyed every minute.

I also quit several times due to RL shit that came up, whether it was school, work, or personal. WoW kind of lost it's hold on me when Cataclysm was released.

I started playing shortly after release and quit after Burning Crusade. I made a brief return during WotLK, but it just couldn't hold my interest. I keep hearing that many people are going to return with the new expansion, but I don't see myself ever playing WoW again. You just can't beat vanilla WoW.

I started playing back in 2007, and I really couldn't stop doing anything else. I picked it up again last year and instantly fell back into the swing of things. It's a comfortable game, to just be able to pick it up and play again after so much time away.

I don't know for sure but probably around 2006/2007 when The burning crusade was launched. A friend of mine was already playing it and he told me it was awesome, so I followed his advice. :p

I started playing WoW in the 7th grade when two friends of mine who were already hooked on the game convinced me to play with them. I played for 4 years like crazy but now I'm just a casual player. I only go ingame when I'm bored and have nothing better to do.

I started playing around mid 2006, I was introduced to the game by a couple of school friends who used to play constantly. I got totally hooked to the game, and took more of a hardcore approach through all TBC. I quit playing early (or mid) Cataclysm (2011) as I had other priorities in my life and the game wasn't really as fun as it used to be for me. I do sub from time to time to kill the nostalgia. Will most likely buy the upcoming expansion along with some friends that are thinking of returning to Azeroth as well.

Started playing in vanilla. I have to stay even to today WoW is the best game I ever played. The graphics are old but nothing that came otu in 10 years is even close to its quality. I just updated my acc and started playing again...

I started playing when I was 12 years old. Played vanilla and got my first character to ~45, quit soon before BC. Came back a while after Wrath and been playing off and on since.

I only started playing World of Warcraft during the time of WOTLK so I didn't get to experience TBC during it's prime but I did go back and play it and it was a fun game.

I started playing WoW a few months after it came out. I believe it was the very beginning of 2005 but I'm not 100% sure. The main reason I started playing WoW was because I enjoyed all of the RTS games and I'm a HUGE fan of Blizzard games.

WoW has really held up well over the years and I'll even re-subscribe for a few months each year and still have a great time with it. Blizzard is always adding a lot of new stuff to the game to keep it fresh. This is what sets their games apart from the rest.

I started playing it in February 2005 with a friend's account. Then later, I bought my own in April that same year. It's still fun, but after over 8 years of it, it gets a wee bit tiresome.

I started playing during the beta. Then when the real game got released, I waited about a year before starting again. I think I just didn't have time back then or something. I played for a year, maybe 2 very actively before I started playing it more casually.

I started in late 2008 when I was lurking on some conspiracy forums and the advert kept popping up. Did my 10 day trial and was hooked ever since. Needless to say I have NEVER clicked on another advert on any website since. I even stopped playing poker which wasn't a bad thing.

I bought WoW when it launched and didn't open the box. I saw someone play it and I thought it looked stupid and childish so I kept the box closed for a couple of months. One day I was extremely bored and decided to give it a go. I created a undead priest and started playing. I remember killing my first bats and going to UC for the first time. I was hooked in a manner of minutes.
