I've been looking around a bit, but haven't seen any "technical" topics.
So, what are you Metro fans using or going to use to enjoy Last light to the last pixel ??

My old PC is still running XP, so I have to upgrade anyway and am thinking of a AMD Zambezi FX8150 cpu and a nVidia GF GTX560 gpu ...

    Packard Bell IPower X3.0
    Intel Core i7 processor 860
    ATI Radeon HD 5570 1024mb
    1tb hard drive
    6gb DDR3 memory
    Windows 7 64-bit

I can play all Stalker games and Metro maxed out (DX11) but prefer DX10, since fps run smoother and, imho, doesn't make much diference. I also have it conected to surround sound 1.5 speakers.

Radeons are better then Nvidia. Also I'm saving up for a gaming rig. I've been looking for a job but can't seem to get one. Anyway my school is hiring me for next year and imma get 5 grand so I can buy a sweet rig.

    Radeon pride worldwide!

I'll be playing it on my currently very weak set-up: 2.4GHz CPU, Radeon HD 5670 (1GB DDR5) and only 3 gigs of RAM... I know, I know, but I can't afford any better right now and I can't buy more RAM because I'm on a 32-bit system. :( However, I'm planning on building a beast PC in two years - with a budget of around 700 quid, but I'll see just how close I'll get to that then depending on how much money I'll have. :)

cable management is fine, those wires at the front connect to the fans on the side panel which I took off to take the pics at the time.

I was actually planning on building a gaming rig especially for Metro: Last Light & Bioshock: Infinite. Even saved up enough cash but right when I was about to order the parts, I changed my mind. I very rarely play on PC, have fuck all experience in building one and the investment just wouldn't be worth it for me. Regardless, this is the list of parts I intended to buy:
    - Lian Li PC-V354
    - Asus Maximus V Gene Z77
    - i5-3570K
    - Asus GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II
    - Corsair Vengeance Blue 8 GB
    - Crucial 64 GB m4 (boot)
    - Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB (media)
    - Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev B.
    - OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W

Thanks for all the replies ...
At the moment I'm playing on this 6 yr old setup (upgraded some parts already) :
    motherboard : MSI K9A
    PSU : Zalman ZM-500HP
    CPU : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 4400+
    RAM : 2 Gb Kingston DDR2-SDRAM PC2-5300 (667MHz)
    Video : MSI N460GTX-SE Cyclone 1GD5/OC/MD
    OS : XP Pro SP3
    mouse & keyboard : Logitech G3 & G15

Metro 2033, STALKER series and Battlefield:Bad Company 2 run fine, but I can't play any of the new games so I'll have to upgrade. Want to play Battlefield 3 (missed that because I'm still on XP), Assassin's Creed 3 and Last Light in January ...

Always had systems with AMD and nVidia, so I'll stick to that I guess :D

Not back at all you just need windows 7 and some more ram and you're pretty much set. If you are looking to play Planetside 2 you might wanna upgrade your CPU since planetside 2 shits on CPUs. My friend runs Crysis on medium to high and can't play PS2 because of his CPU.

My current PC is a piece of crap, basically just for internet and using Word, but I am planning on upgrading soon... My PC has Windows 7, but my older rig, a Vista, was better than this cheapo, it broke though. So I bought the cheapest thing I could get.

    I'm going to be building my PC though, from Newegg. Here are my new computers specs;

    -Alienware Aurora
    -Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit
    -Intel Quad Core i7 960 3.2 GHz
    -ATI Radeon 2GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon™ HD 5970 w/ DX11 support
    -9GB Triple Channel 1067Mhz DDR3
    -640GB - SATA-II, 3Gb/s, 7,200RPM, 16MB Cache HDD

Stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop! NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER get an alienware. They are extremely overpriced. Just go to ibuypower.com if you wanna get a good computer for a good price. You can customize everything there and you can get a good gaming computer for about 700 bucks which isn't bad at all.

    Alright, so what about this;

    Gamer Mage D415
    -AMD FX-6300 CPU
    -4GB DDR3-1600 Memory
    -AMD Radeon HD 7770 1GB
    -Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 MB
    -1TB SATA-III 7200rpm HDD
    -Windows 8

It also has Microsoft Word 2010 trial, but I don't care about that.

    It costs $699.

Anybody using a SSD for Windows and games ?? 512GB or something like that ?

I've already got a 2TB NAS and 1TB mediaplayer in my LAN so I don't really need a 1TB or 2TB HD in my PC.

I'll probably buy a Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB soon, but I don't have an SSD yet.

That is pretty good but you would need more ram and can you see if you would get windows 7? Windows 8 is stupid. Either windows 7 or xp. And again you would need some more ram since 4GB isnt that much. Like I said before try ibuypower.com you can customize your pc there.

Yeah, that computer is actually from ibuypower.com. I have Windows 7 on this computer, and so I could just install it, so... I would need more than 4 GB RAM? Really? Wow. Ok, well, I'll work on that.

Yea because some games need about 3-4GB of ram just to run them it's always better to have around 6+GB of ram. Some games have a memory leak or you might want to look something up at the same time, plus you always want some breathing room with your ram.

Agreed. Windows 8 is for tablets and touch-screens.
But not XP, some new games won't run on XP anymore. And XP won't let you use more than 3 GB of RAM I think ...
