Why no suit options in LL?

Unless I missed it, there are no options to buy a stealth or heavy suit from vendors. Why was this done?

I feel they changed some things to cater to more people, this seems like one of them. But honestly with how easy it already is to stealth in this game what would the Stealth Suit have accomplished? They Heavy Suit on the other hand would have been nice for some sections, namely the boss fights and train.

The Factions are way to easy, everyone is saying that. Maybe the silly hitmarkers are to blame, or the guns are easy to control or have increased damage modifiers but in Metro 2033 the suits were very much welcomed.

Heavy suits although adding weight thus reducing running speed would help reduce damage from factions or mutants which could have been an excellent CHOICE

Stealth suit would help create less noise whilst walking and increase "stealthiness" which also would have been a great CHOICE

Yes these are all CHOICES which should have been in Last Light.

This and a few other things is why I rate Metro 2033 as a better game than Last Light. They've taken out so many elements which made 2033 enjoyable. IF only they did a few things which 2033 did and listened when we all said make it less linear and make it a bit more open world, this game would have been a perfect 10/10 and GOTY!!!

    @majnu

I agree with you about it being a nice choice in 2033, but with the way they changed things in LL I don't think they would have been all that helpful anyway.

I don't think many people even realised the suits existed in 2033. I've watched videos on Youtube of people talking about a certain part being hard and I'm like, "You're not using the stealth suit!"

You have to realise when THQ had Metro 2033 they never marketed it. For Metro LL we've had video guides, Interviews, gameplays etc which explained the metro universe thus people knew that exploration and the living AI was important.

When people eventually started playing 2033 they played it as a Western shooter and complained AI were too spongy hence why today in Metro LL we have hitmarkers and enemies which can be easily killed.

Metro being a SP game only should prove challenging but I don't think it is (apart from the mutants which I love). I hope a patch can address it but I don't think anything can be done now.

Exactly, which is why things they emplemented such as hitmarkers, quick throw grenades (I miss having to light them), claymores, etc. feel catered toward the more casual CoD crowd.

No it didn't. The game is still very enjoyable, but I certainly miss having things the way they were in 2033.

What I miss is being able to "cook" grenades, now it seems that you either throw them or you don't. Really disappointing not being able to time my throw anymore :(

I wish I had the knowledge to do all that. First thing I'd do is:

    1. Make Factions slightly harder
    2. Add Stealth and Heavy Suit
    3. Add Broken glass and more varied traps around areas
    4. Where I shoot out glass, leave the pieces remaining so if standing on it will alert the enemy if they are near by.
    5. Add recoil to weapons
    6. Bring back the Volt Driver :D
    7. Remove hitmarkers

In fact I think it would be better if we all think of an improvement list. :)

    Just adding to your list:

    8. Remove radios playing metal music.
    9. Bring back old grenade mechanics.
    10. Remove claymores.
    11. Remove some filters or reduce the amount of time gained from each one.
    12. Make Miller look like Miller.
    13. Let enemies be able to hear things like they could in 2033. (I swear they are deaf now)

Haha you can stand right in front of them, if lights are off, they wont notice a thing, i almost didn't kill no1 in my first game , knocked everyone out.
I would firstly add suits to game, so players can set their equipment to their liking.

Heavy suit all the way :D

I still don't have LL yet so i'm saddened to see that it doesn't have the basic components that made 2033 great. (I've been very careful in trying to avoid spoilers!)

1.Are you playing it on Ranger Hardcore? They said they were going to make it even harder than 2033 on the harder difficulties!
2.I say it all of the time but the stealth suit was pointless, and made no difference whatsoever, it was still cool nonetheless. The heavy suit on the other hand was good to wear against humans in 2033 if you're not a fan of stealth.
    3.No broken glass? :tsk:

    8. Die
    9. I wanted them to keep that and the throwing knives as they were in 2033, glad i'm not the only one.
    10. What's the obsession with claymores in FPS' lately? There's no need.
    11. That'd be better.
    12. This worries me.
    13. Stupid AI? seen a lot of people say this, the AI wasn't great in 2033 but this is just making me upset right here.

I have a feeling i'm not going to enjoy this game as much as I had hoped.

The problem is they don't respond to much of anything. Unless you intentionally make your presence known 95% of the time they won't know you are there no matter what you do, even on RHC.

If you liked 2033 you'll most likely still really enjoy LL. I was so focused on the things that were changed and little things that bug me on the first playthrough I had a hard time enjoying it. The second playthrough I didn't focus on those things and really enjoyed myself.

What would be good is if suits determined what kind of weapons arytom could carry
