Why the new ESO emotes make sense

As an avid Guild Wars 2 WvW player, two of the things that I really wished it had were emotes that specifically laud another player for a good fight and another that sort of pays back a trolling PvP'er. I guess /salute and /laugh are already there for this, but more specific PvP emotes would have been preferable.

Trevor Bagget's wining entries to the ESO emote contest seems to have covered this pretty well. What he proposed was similar to my wishlist, one that honors a player and one that expresses revenge. They still have to tweak it though to prevent abuse, but it seems this is a good start.

I hope they add more emotes. I like the points you gave out and they should be taken into consideration. I've also played GW2 and boy, do they have some emotes.

You should try playing LoTRO then. LotRO has *tons* of emotes and I think they're still adding to it every festival and expansion pack. I believe they designed it that way because there are LotRO servers that cater primarily to hard-core role-players who really act out Tolkien's lore.

I believe ESO has enough lore on it to facilitate a full social role-playing experience so they're attention on emotes is pretty welcome. I've never role-played myself but it would be also interesting to try out in ESO when it comes out.
