Will it have any fantasy elements?

I haven't noticed any in the trailer, but I did read somewhere that it doesn't adhere strictly to real historical events. Although that might be in relation to the characters and events.

I'm thinking it will be more like Assassins creed only with emphasis on unit control over sneak attacks. While Microsoft would love to create their own version of God of War, I don't think Ryse will be it.

I'd have to agree with spartan on this one, if they would have wanted to include fantasy elements we would have seen so in the trailers. And in all honesty I think it's better this way.

I think is only in relation to the characters and events.

I really think it is better gameplay without, imho. maybe I'm just old-school like that.

It would have been nice, but I think that's not the kind of game they intended to produce. I think the general game-play style is intended to mimic that of Assassins Creed. Especially with the stop motion fight sequences.

Not to mention I've yet to see a fantasy game that doesn't start out as one off the bat. Ryse however starts out as the Roman version of Omaha Beach.

That's a good way of putting it.

I guess the emphasis will fall on the gameplay anyway, so who cares if you're cutting down monsters or just people. Still it would have been interesting to mix in a few mythical elements.

I hope that the game stick with history but I'd not be surprised to see some fantasy element here and there (a minotaur :p )

Some "minor" fantasy element will not disturb me at all.

I agree with Mark, some minor element could be interesting.

I'm hoping it doesn't have to many fantasy elements in it and focuses more on human vs human combat. I don't mind there being fantasy creatures etc in games, but I don't think it would suit this game which seems to try to be as realistic as possible.
