Will the villages grow on their own?

I'm still somewhat new to the game and I'm a huge fan of the villages that spawn throughout your world. Do they grow as the game progresses? Or do you have to build it our for the villagers?

I believe they do grow over time, even roses are present I believe they actually mate as well.

The naturally spawning villages don't change on their own in vanilla minecraft

You can download mods that allow the villages to grow over time, but I've never seen them change in the regular game. The villagers aren't exactly builders. They kind of just take up space and make weird noises.

Just lock them up, they do nothing. Anyway, like everyone said they don't grow without mods as far as I know.

I think that villages get generated only once, at the creation of a world. Then they just stay there and nothing more happens. No new villages can spawn after generating a world. Neither they can dissapear, unless you destroy them.

NPC villages spawn anywhere in a new world, or old world. They are there, and you just have to find them.

In the newer updates they wont breed until you trade with them and feed them bread, which makes me really upset because I am a village nerd. I love them, I love building them, breeding them, and just being near them in general. Basically the game will generate one and you can do what ever you like with it...and they will breed if there are more doors. They're fascinating and there's tonnes of loopholes you can get into. I usually make a square in the floor and build doors going right down into the ground with glass around the outsides. Makes them breed a lot :).

Villages spawn once and they don't go away. They don't grow or change in any tangible way unless you go around destroying them, building within them, or murdering villagers. I don't really do much with villages unless they're in my way. Then I'll destroy them and send the villagers packing. There's no enough room in each map for me and other villagers. ;]
