So basically as the titles says, I wan't to read your opinions on Hotseat. I'll start, of course. Hotseat has been 80% of my experience with CIV5, I honestly think I wouldn't buy CIV6 if it doesn't have that option. The AI is fine for a couple of games but they're pretty dumb (as we all know, this isn't news to any CIV player) and since MP hasn't really been an option, I turned to hotseat. I played with my friends on huge epic games that go for weeks (they come over on weekends to continue our game) it has made CIV5 my favorite game for local multiplayer, there is nothing quite like bartering with your friends for resources or declaring war as a team to a powerful AI. So how about you? Am I alone in this? Hotseat doesn't seem to be as popular as I would've though, i'm curious to see what you have to say.
Honestly, I haven't played in a "Hotseat" mode but I can see the appeal to it, it wouldn't actually be a bad shout but I doubt they will add it to the game. I think Civ VI is pretty much done and they're just fleshing out the details, but maybe Civ VII will have this option.
I do not really have that much experience of the hotseat mode, but from what I understand it is nice for the reasons that you stated. I really did not play as much of Civ V as I thought that I would have, so that probably contributed to not trying this mode, but oh well. I will certainly give it a look when VI comes out. Well, I personally think that there should be a Hotseat option for the most experienced players, there are many newbies who are probably going to buy and try the new game as well as there are many experienced players that are waiting and wishing something else than just graphics and cute landscapes, however, I do not really consider "not buying it" as a valid option if the game does not come up with the Hotseat mode, it will probably have something similar or probably way better than that, we just have to wait and see what they come up with.
I used to do Hotseat Civilization IV games with my S.O., and I found it kind of annoying. At the same time, it's a good way to play with a friend, especially one who is just learning the game. I'm kind of on the fence; it would be nice if it was included, but at the same time, it won't keep me from buying the game.
How do you this? Is there any official information released about this. I am asking you this because most of them are rumors.
You are right. This thing won't keep me from buying this game too. I will surely buy the game even if it contains less features because I really love that game.
