WoD Release and Pre-Order Date Anticipations

    I was wondering what people's anticipations were for when we'll be able to pre-order Warlords of Draenor. For those who don't know, the free level 90 character will come when you pre-order, so depending on when it's available, you may be able to use it extensively in Mists.

    We all know that the Summer isn't the best time to release an expansion, as many people are away. On the other hand, Blizzard said they wanted Patch 5.4 to be quicker than Patch 4.3 was. Since the Beta hasn't even been announced yet, it seems unlikely that it'll be released this spring. What are your thoughts? When more information is available, I'll update this thread.

    Well there are speculation that it will be around the end of July because Blizzard said that the expansion will be out few weeks after Season 15 ends and that's near the end of July.
    MoP came out in August, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they release it again around that time.

    That's quite exciting. I can't explain why, but it seems like this expansion is coming out quicker than others. (I know the actual timing works out to be pretty much the same. Just how it all feels).

    To me it feels that it's taking too long, but that's maybe because there won't be any new raid content before the expansion and I'm 2 bosses away from clearing everything on HC, so I won't really have anything to do after that.
    I guess I'll be doing PvP, but I don't really enjoy it in it's current state... maybe after the item squish it will get closer to the good old TBC days.

    I don't think I will buy this expansion. I'm starting to stop playing WoW so I don't think it is wise to invest in a new expansion pack. Maybe I will try to play it on a private server a few years later.

    That's too bad. I myself am extremely excited about it, but the waiting is killing me.
    I don't know about other people, but for me this expansion is quite important, because if it's good I'll continue playing, but if it ends up being a disappoiting this will probably be my last WoW expansion.

    I agree. I'll definitely be playing it. I'm actually taking a break from WoW now, and I plan on coming back on the day of the released expansion. I might start a new account just for the sake of starting fresh, since I'll get a free 90 anyways.

    I think they are rushing it because it's going to be their final expansion. If anything, this will be the 2nd to last expansion, before WoW becomes completely free-to-play and is basically over.

    I don't think this will be their final WoW expansion or pre-final(can't think of the exact word lol).
    Just recently Blizzard increased their staff by 33% and said that they will increase it by another 33%, which will allow them to release new raid content each 3-6 months and new expansion each year. What's more they are putting A LOT of work in the visual aspects of the expansion(art work) and I believe the reason for that is so that they can compete with all the new games that are coming out. What's more this only shows that they are planning on completely reviving WoW and have it around for years to come.

    I'm really looking for to the WoD expansion after being disappointed with MoP. The rumors I've heard have been July so hopefully it's not later than that. My subscription is currently cancelled until WoD comes out.

    Yeah I hope it's around July and not later.
    Btw today they announced that it's coming the end of season for challenge modes and patch 5.4.7 which I believe will be the last patch before the expansion. This makes me believe that the expansion might come out earlier than that. I myself am hoping that the expansion comes out around the end of May when I'll be done with my uni and will have plenty of time to play it :p.
